After meeting at a mutual friend’s birthday, Morgan and Pete realized that they had lived only a few miles from each other for many years. The pair immediately connected and have been together ever since.

Morgan had always dreamed of getting married in Charleston. Although the couple had to postpone their original wedding date, her dream became a reality on a steamy day in September. Their family and friends flew in for the celebration and stayed in neighboring townhouses for a long weekend of festivities and fun.

Beautifully lined with crepe myrtles, the winding road to their venue was the perfect introduction to their romantic lowcountry wedding. The pair tied the knot beneath the shade of an old oak tree.

Morgan and Pete’s wedding day was filled with love and laughter. They enjoyed a dinner of Southern staples like shrimp and grits and fried chicken and biscuits. Tables were adorned with roses, gardenias and camellias as well as a bottle of pure maple syrup at each place setting for guests to take home, a nod to Pete’s Canadian roots. Morgan and Pete then danced the night away as the air was filled with Motown, classic rock and modernday hits. As the couple departed, guests waved them off with sparklers.

Thinking back on the day, Morgan says she remembers that she just kept staring at Pete in awe. “It gave me such comfort knowing that it is forever Pete and I.”
