Now in its 12th year, the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre’s muchloved pantomime has returned with a magical new adaptation of Aladdin written by award winning comedian, actor and composer Vikki Stone (#zoologicalsociety, BAFTA Nominated BBC Ten Pieces), directed by Abigail Graham (MUM - Soho Theatre/Theatre Royal Plymouth, The Tyler Sisters - Hampstead).

Beanstalk in 2017, Aladdin marks the panto writing debut from Vikki Stone, well known for her original comedy songs, and as previously seen on Richard Osman’s House of Games and The John Bishop Show.

Qasim Mahmood (Tartuffe - RSC, Trojan Horse – UK tour) plays Aladdin in his first major lead role continuing a Lyric panto tradition showcasing exceptional new talent; Stephan Boyce (Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs - Les Enfants Terribles, Three Musketeers – Irish Theatre) is Dave Twankey, Kate Donnachie (Battersea Arts Centre Beatbox Academy; Dick Whittington ensemble - Lyric) is Emperor/Genie, Irvine Iqbal (East is East – Birmingham Rep/ National Theatre, Romeo & Juliet – Regent’s Park) is Abanazer, Gracie McGonigal (Amazon Prime’s The Power) makes her professional stage debut as Wishy, and Ellena Vincent (Hamilton, The Book of Mormon) is Jasmine. The cast is completed by the Lyric Panto Ensemble of inspiring young West London talent: Caroline Adebayo, Harry Drane, Kane Feagan, and Carla-Jean Lares.

Set design is by Lily Arnold, Costume Design by Kinnetia Isidore, Lighting Design by Sally Ferguson, Composition and Arrangements by Corin Buckeridge, Sound Design by Nick Manning, Choreography by Chi-San Howard, Musical Direction by Adam Gerber, Casting by Harry Blumenau.

Get ready to sing 'Glory, Glory, Hammersmith' once again. Join Aladdin, Genie and friends on a magical carpet ride. This festive family adventure follows Aladdin on his quest for true love, fortune and hugs with his nearest and dearest. Expect the usual Lyric twist on all of your favourite characters as well as live music, magic lamps, plenty of laughs and a journey to a faraway land.

Aladdin is on at the Lyric until 2nd January 2022.

Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas has become a must-see Christmas show and returns for its 10th anniversary production. The Lyric family favourite, co-produced with the Oliver Award nominated Pins & Needles Productions, is a great introductory theatre experience for young children and bursts into life with live music, playful puppets and a magical set. Join Santa as he awakes from a dream of sun, sea and sand only to find it is the busiest day of the year: Christmas Eve. Watch as he prepares for his Christmas deliveries, feeds his reindeer and finally takes flight into the snowy night.
