Introduction Warriors have always been a part of legends and history.Three of the most famous warriors in history have been chosen and made into playable human figures that kids can put together on their own and enjoy. Warriors represent the time and culture they belong to and this kit aims to educate our children about the way they wear clothes and their skills of using weapons.
ROMAN LEGIONS For most of the Roman Imperial period, the legions were a part of the Imperial army and formed its elite heavy infantry, recruited exclusively from Roman citizens. Clothing was one of the most important aspects of a Roman Soldier's life. The basic tunic of the Roman soldier was of red or undyed wool. Armor was not standardized and it was common for legions to wear a mix of various styles which suited them. The most commonly used roman weapons were short swords, spears, knifes and bows. Because of the enormous military successes of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire, the legion has long been regarded as the prime ancient model for military efficiency and ability.
VIKING The Vikings were the 8th century Nordic people who were famous for their long and colorful history of being explorers, warriors and merchants. The Viking arms and weapons were indicative of their social status. Beautifully finished weapons were an important way for a warrior to display his wealth and status and a wealthy Viking would have a complete set of a metal helmet, wooden shield, mail shirt, and arms. These Vikings used long ships to travel great distances raiding and settling on coastal areas expanding their reach and cultural influence.
TEMPLAR The Knights Templar were among the most famous of the Western Christian military. After being officially endorsed by the Catholic Church around 1129, it grew rapidly in numbers and power. The knights wore a white fur coat with a red cross and a white mantle. The Red Cross that the Templars wore on their robes was a symbol of martyrdom. Most of the Templars carried long swords and rode horses into the battle. Templar knights were among the most skilled fighting units of the Crusades. Non-combatant members of the Order managed a large economic system throughout Christendom, innovating financial techniques that developed the early form of banking.
