Appropriate Diet is the Key of Good Health

diet and a disciplined lifestyle play vital roles in keeping our mind and body in the healthy state. Now, the question arises; what exactly is an appropriate and balanced diet. Healthy diet vary from one person to another, food which is good for your health can really put someone into a great trouble. Therefore, age, gender, occupation, medical history and body types are the prominent factors which should be considered decisive while choosing food for your plate and in making a diet plan.

Ayurveda, appropriate diet itself is a medicine and we cannot expect good health without a proper diet. Food influences the body but equally affects the mind and purity of food ensures purity of mind. normally required more protein, minerals, calcium, vitamins and enzymes than adults due to their physical growth and requirements. They can easily digest soluble fat and protein rich diet, on the other side, adults in the age group of 18 to 25 usually do lot of physical activities and they demand healthy calories. Girls need less calories than boys, but pregnant women required a diet rich in protein, minerals and essential vitamins. The efficiency of human digestion system decreases gradually after attaining an age of 40 to maintain a healthy digestion system people should make desired changes in their diet. Usually older people do less physical work and their digestion system weaken over the time, therefore they should take more fiber, curd, cereals and sprouts. They should curtail the consumption of pulses, paneer and excessive intake of milk, rather they should consume more green vegetables and seasonal fruits.

in cold climate required more calories and energy than the people of tropical countries like India and China. Even our diet regime changes with the change in climate, therefore we must take seasonal fruits, vegetable, pulses and cereals to maintain a harmony with the nature. We can take more dry fruits in winter and fruits like melon, watermelon and papaya in summers to suffice the water demand of our body. People suffering from diabetes and cardiac ailments should be very careful about their food. Such people should avoid the consumption of sucrose, carbonated soft-drinks, white flour, ghee, eggs and red meat. They must take low calorie and high fiber food like green vegetables, cereals, brown rice and salad.
