Edward Enninful was born in Ghana, but at a very young age, moved to Ladbroke Grove, London, along with his parents and five siblings. His mother worked as a seamstress, and inspired him with the vividly patterned colours and fabrics she used while creating clothing for her British-Ghanaian friends. He then went on to do education at the university of London. At the age of 16, Enninful was spotted on the train by stylist Simon Foxton. "I was 16 and I had no idea who Simon Foxton was," he said in an interview for Telegraph Magazine. "About two weeks later I was stopped again, this time by a model scout. When I told her that I'd already been approached by Simon Foxton, she told me how amazing he was and weeks later I was shooting with him at his house, along with Nick Knight, a founder-photographer of I-D. Enninful described his brief career modelling as his "baptism into fashion". By the age of 17, he had been introduced to Trish and Terry Jones, founder of iD magazine, and soon began assisting I-D fashion director Beth Summers. He finished college, earning a degree at Goldsmiths, University of London("Barely, but otherwise my dad would have killed me.”) while juggling his modelling career and assisting on shoots with Foxton and Summers. Summers left the magazine a few weeks after Enninful’s 18th birthday, and Terry Jones gave Enninful the position. Enninful has worked with magazines such as ID magazine, Italian Vogue, American Vogue. By age 22, Enninful worked for Calvin Klein on their advertising with Craig McDean and close friend, makeup artist Pat McGrath. To date, he has consulted for numerous advertising campaigns and runway shows, including: Comme des Garçons, Christian Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Celine, Lanvin, Mulberry, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Jill Sander, Calvin Klein, Fendi, Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Missonind W magazine.

What makes Enninful different from the other stylist in the industry is he worked with just black models for the issue of Vogue. Enninful is one of the most influential stylists in the industry, and is currently the fashion and style director of W magazine. He is also different for working within the fashion industry with W magazine at the age of 18 whilst being in university studying something completely different to fashion.

Katie Grand (born April 1971) is a British stylist and fashion journalist. Grand was born in Leeds, England in and grew up in Selly Oak, Birmingham. Grand discovered fashion at the early age of 12 saying “I was really nerdy. And then, kind of overnight, I can clearly remember thinking, "I just want to be cool." Around that time, my dad's girlfriend moved up from London and I thought she was terribly chic. She always used to wear Warehouse, which had just opened and was really good, because Jeff Banks was still in charge. So there are photos of me aged twelve wearing waisthigh tight red jeans with a puffed-sleeved blue sweater and awful hair, and then aged thirteen in an ankle-length black gathered skirt, white shirt tucked in, braces, a black tie, black lace tights, navy blue stilettos and a black beret with a veil. So it was quite quick! And I really got into going to London and going to the Great Gear Market and all that kind of thing” At secondary school she stated her strongest subjects were Maths, History and English. On deciding her career, she said, "around fifteen I decided that I wanted to do something in art or fashion", so she began taking night classes at the local college in sculpture, life drawing, jewellery making and pottery to improve her design skills. After completing sixth form, Grand began a foundation course at Birmingham's Bourneville College of Art, where she was named Student of the Year, achieving 96%. Grand then moved on to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design where she found it hard to settle on a single subject—"I tried design, marketing, journalism, knitwear... and ended up doing print, which I still find weird.

In her fashion career Named by British newspaper The Daily Telegraph as "one of the most powerful stylists in the world", Grand began fashion styling while still at St. Martins, directing and styling fashion shoots for newly launched magazine, Dazed & Confused in the 1990s. She was later bought by style magazine The Face as Fashion Director. Soon after this, Grand was made Editor-in-Chief of POP, a launched bi-annual fashion magazine. This position brought Grand many friendships, including with celebrities Madonna and Agyness Deyn, and designers Stella McCartney, Luella Bartley, Miuccia Prada and Giles Deacon. She infamously convinced actress Elizabeth Hurley to pose nude on the cover of POP, just six weeks after giving birth. Grand is the editor of LOVE, a biannual fashion magazine she launched herself. She styles many fashion photo shoots and shows including Giles and Unique at Topshop. She has also worked on fashion shows for Louis Vuitton and Prada.

Grand’s work is different from others because she came from the background of being a “nerd” to a big stylist within the fashion industry already working with Marc Jacobs and Kendall Jenner on her modelling career.

Women’s body types: Apple body shape: The apple body shape of a woman will appear to have narrow hips, larger breasts and a relatively bigger waist. Apple shaped women seem to have more fat surrounding their internal organs. When dressing a woman with an apple body shape the main goal is balance to make the upper half of the body look longer and make the shoulders and waist appear slimmer. What to do: -Wear underwear that can control the middle part of your body -wear tops that open the v line up like low v neck shirts to show of the bust area. -a side tie dress looks good on apple shaped bodies as it draws less attention away from the stomach and more focus on the figure. -Jeans with black pockets are needed as apple shaped bodies have smaller bottoms, pockets with flaps make it the bottom look curvier and fuller. -belted jackets also make the waist look thinner as well as trimming the tummy area if the jackets have pockets

.

Pear body shape: The pear shaped body types carry more fat around the hips, thighs and buttocks. Pear body will have a smaller upper body meaning a smaller breast size and a heavier lower body. What to do: -show of your slim top half by wearing sleeveless tops, tight tops, strapless dresses and also turtle neck tops to show of the waist area. -dresses with nipped in waist or cut at the front of the stomach as well as a flared skirt. -jackets with shoulder pads to help broaden your top half and balance with the bottom half of the body. -thin belts to show of your thin waist, suitable to wear with tight dresses or jeans -skirts with front pleats and a line skirts to show the waist to be small as well as skimming around the waist

.

Hourglass body shape The hourglass body shape is round and curvy, with a well-defined waistline, bust, fuller hips and generous thighs. What to do: -use puff sleeves on jackets to widen the shoulders -a line skirt with a tight fitting top to show the hourglass figure off nicely -any shape skirt is suitable for the hourglass figure but pencil skirts is the most appealing showing your hips and amazing figure off -wear fitted clothes but not too tight of a fitting -straight legged jeans that stop at the ankle to skim past the thighs and giving it a well fitted look because boot cut jeans will balance the curves - Fitted dress and jumpsuits are perfect for the hourglass figure showing of your curves in the right places

Rectangle body shape The rectangle body shape is when the hips and bust are the same circumference. What to do: -Clothes that create volume such as frills and ruffles with colour -boot cut jeans are perfect, slight flare is flattering and the slim fit shows show’s off the petite frame and bum. -Wear slim-fitted boyfriend blazers or try a simple, fitted jacket to add flattering definition to your body frame. -Wear skinny jeans, they will show off your slim legs

Strawberry body shape The strawberry body shape is having broad shoulders and usually with an equally impressive bust, the sassy strawberry-shape is visually slender due to narrow hips. Strawberries can often look very bay-watch in appearance (athletic with a bust) however proportionally resembling an inverted triangle. What to do: tailored jackets, slim-line trousers and sweeping dresses.. Use block colours on outer garments and avoid any details on the shoulders as this can make you look bulkier. Wrap tops are perfect for your inverted triangle body, especially if you have a fuller bust. -Wear prints or patterns on your lower half, it can help add bulk and volume, drawing the focus away from a broader upper body. -Accessories should be big and bulky. Long necklaces will create a focus in the centre of the body, and don't forget some show-stopping shoes. -When it comes to tops, look for details that will soften your shape. A waterfall neckline with ruffles will draw attention towards your cleavage, and away from strong shoulders. Use a statement belt to create a centrepiece to your outfit. Look for embellishment such as studs or a big

Rings are a good accessory to draw attention away from the top half of the body and to make your outfit stand out more

Belts are always a good accessory to make a simple outfit stand out a bit more as well as making your stomach thinner A chunky necklace and a watch also make a good fashion statement and complete the look of your outfit

Handbags are a must to complete your outfit, they’re also practical and create a fashion statement

Hats draw attention to your face as well as your entire outfit, also creates an impression on others and gives you that elegant look.

A new colour combination can add innovation to a seemingly dull wardrobe and can completely transform a look from winter to spring, spring to summer, and so on. Colour theory is relevant to several aspects of style besides clothing as well. For example, hair colour, makeup choices, interior design, and more are all types of style and design that revolve around colour choice.

Neutral warm

cool

You will find complementary colours on the opposite side to each other on the wheel (image right). With fashion, ‘complementary colours’ can be misleading as people will think wearing the same colours together will complement you but they can complement each other if you’re wanting to create a flamboyant outfit. If you’re creating an elegant outfit then this wouldn’t be such a perfect idea.

To create an outfit with colour blocking, you firstly need to know about the colours. To colour block it is best not to go over 2 or 3 shades on the colour wheel as it then becomes too much. The idea of colour blocking is to mix the colours to create a great outfit not to go under a shade and create a fashion no go.

Unless you are a very confident dresser it is best to avoid wearing complementa ry colours together. Instead why not try wearing one colour with a paler tint of its opposite, such as green with light pink or blue with pale gold?

Analogous colours are the colours next to one another on the colour wheel (image right) They are an easing palette for outfits to mix and match to be easy on the eye. If you’re going to wear analogous colours you must limit yourself to no more than 3 colours in your outfits. 2 analogous colours and 1 neutral colour would also be good and more appealing to the eye for an outfit.

Triadic colours are three colours that are all equidistant from each other on the colour wheel. Because of their placement on the colour wheel, when paired together, triadic colour combinations tend to be very vibrant. Just like other colour combinations, it helps to choose one colour as the dominate colour and the two others as supporting colours in accent pieces.

Monochromatic colours is wearing an entire outfit using one colour. (image right) it can be the same shade or different shades the idea of it al is to keep the shade the same hue. For it to have limitations it depends on what colour you choose to wear for the outfit. When it is done perfectly you’ll have a stylish outfit.

Mix and matching patterns for an outfit can give you a great out (like the images shown to the left) but there is patterns that shouldn’t be mixed together like the same patterns for instance (image shown right)

I picked Topshop for my first magazine cover because my target audience is based on students and students tend to shop at Topshop. After my photo-shoot I then realised my photo-shoot wasn’t all based on fashion so instead chosen another magazine (ID) as ID magazine isn’t all about the fashion and it’s a higher end magazine.

I have chosen V magazine for my magazine because it reflects what my photoshoot is about. Its less about the fashion and more about the urban vibe that v magazine has. My target audience is a wide variety of people such as young teenagers, urban culture, young adults/students.

The future trend I have chosen for my final photo-shoot is Aurora Borealis (Northern lights). I have promoted the trend through styling by having a plain white t shirt as the garment and having pictures of the northern lights project onto the t-shirt showing different images so the images reflect on the shirt. The hair and make up was planned to be neon coloured hair extensions placed into the hair and neon coloured lipstick and eye shadow to represent the bright colours of the northern lights, but due to little time we couldn’t have the make up and hair done up the way we wanted. My target consumer group is students because, students like fresh new styles to wear and northern lights being projected onto t shirts is something that hasn’t happened in fashion industry yet. I created a more commercial look so it looked affordable and to attract the eye of students. I also used myself as a model representing students. The magazine I chosen for my final outcome was ID magazine. I chosen ID magazine because its not all about the fashion. ID magazine first started of as a pre-digital, cut-andpaste which then developed into a glossy magazine which is appropriate for students because its affordable and its free to view online. The planning and preparation for the photo-shoot consisted of research into various things such as; research into different shapes, colour wheel, number of stylists and their work, the principles of styling too. As well as researching I also created mood boards to get into the characters position on what they’d enjoy wearing and feel comfortable in. The mood boards consisted of 3 day outfits, birthday outfit, casual outfit and shopping outfit. I also created mood boards for different consumer groups such as laggard, student, innovator, young adaptor etc. I also created a call sheet to keep track on who was photographing the shoot, time, date, place of location, model, hair, make up, everything a photo-shoot needs. The delivery of my photo-shoot was very successful. Everything regarding the Aurora Borealis theme worked out perfectly onto the plain white t-shirt. Practice run wouldn’t of made any difference because the shoot was just simple with a shirt to be worn and a picture to be projected onto it. The only problems we had with the photo-shoot was timing. We didn’t have enough time to create the make up look we was going for as well as the different coloured hair extensions we planned to put in for the effect of the northern lights. But regardless I think the photo-shoot worked out better without the make up and hair because the pictures used on the projector worked perfectly and covered most of the face and hair. The planning for the shoot helped a lot. If I didn’t plan the shoot beforehand I don’t think the shoot would’ ve turned out as well as it did. I think I worked well in the team because we both had similar ideas and merged them both together to create the shoot we received. If I was to do anything differently with the shoot it would be more images relevant to the Aurora Borealis because we only had a small number of images and the small number worked out perfectly it’s a shame we didn’t get more.
