Chloe Majomi’s Portfolio
About Me My name is Chloe Majomi, I am 22 years old born in London and lived there for 12 years. Then I moved to Nigeria, Lagos for 4 years and coming back to London. I enjoy traveling a lot, I have been to many places in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. I have been learning Japanese by myself for 3 years until I got lucky enough to go to Japan for 2 months being able to learn the culture and speak the language. I also like to draw and write short stories when I am bored.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Designs especially tall buildings have always fascinated me. The structure and faรงade are most interesting; therefore from age 13 I knew I wanted to be an architect. I focused on the key subjects and got a friendly software called SIMS
With this software I was able to stimulate a design, build and even decorate the building using SIM,
The intrigue of developing an idea into reality is the driving force behind my ambition. By age 15 I had over 30 sketches in my portfolio
At 16yrs old, I was the only student from my school that got a work placement with WSP.
WORK EXPERIENCE IN JAPAN ABE ATELIER in Tokyo, Japan. This is the most in-depth project I have ever undertaken - schematic design to construction. Part of my team work experience includes site surveys, sketch up modeling, 3D modeling, Bill of Quantity, presentation to client and supervisory role The construction was finished in 2016.
FIRST YEAR
My first year project was to design a “HUB where prospective students can interact and pick up information regarding the university. The HUB must be a temporary structure used once a year.
I went for a modern aesthetic using steel frame with wood cladding. The clash with the old structure made this piece attractive especially to the modern day student. I got a B for this task.
SECOND YEAR
The second year task was to design an office building with retail spaces.
My focus was to ensure that there were enough natural lights, easy to maintain design, materials and natural colours for the faรงade. I was awarded a B.
For our final year we were assigned to design a surgery based in Southampton. My initial THIRD YEAR goal was to try and not go for a square building. I went for a more complex design – oval shape with steel beams and green roof, which is environmentally friendly. I accomplished this task with difficulty but was still able to get a B.
Etisalat
During my time at Universal Furniture one of the design projects I had taken part in was the Etisalat Kiosk. I had participated in the design ideas and had also put together a slideshow for the clients to view.
SIMS
Long before AutoCAD and Revit I used a software called Sims. Although it's leisure software, I played a lot with this software from the age of 13. This software has helped in no small measure to increase my love for architecture.
DIGITAL ART & OTHER HOBBIES
In 2010 I really wanted to know how to do digital art since I love to sketch. When I bought my first tablet I was excited but annoyed because drawing digitally takes time but I managed to get used to it using paintool sai as well as photoshop and from there it started to progress. I have also done a few animations as well as some story writing.
PHOTOSHOP
I started playing around with digital Art in YEAR 2000 With this tool I was able to master the efficient and effective use of Photoshop , Paintool Sai. I am now advanced in character design, Thanks to Digital Art.
Thank You
