Exploring the theme of recycling and innovation is of vital importance: the redevelopment of industrial areas, and in this specific case the conversion of disused power plants, offers an opportunity to open up new development possibilities for the host territories.

ARCHITECTURE MASTER’S THESIS SESSION: FEBRUARY 2020 FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE UNIFI UNIVERSITY OF FLORENCE, ITALY
The main theme of the thesis fits into this type of scenario, that is, it envisions a tourist-environmental reconversion of the former turbogas power plant in Campomarino (CB), while recognizing the need to integrate it into a larger-scale system that reconnects it to the landscape context, currently undervalued. The theme is based on a redevelopment competition of the ENEL plant.

The project aims to reconnect with the surrounding agricultural environment by creating spaces for social activities based on a system composed of the observations and points of view required. It represents an opportunity to implement a reuse intervention, which is well-informed and mindful.
INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE
REcycle to Rennovate. A+F Center Master’s Thesis 2020
In order to enhance the existing industrial structure, new volumes will be inserted into the architectural elements of interest in order to ensure an internal comfort that corresponds to the new function assigned. Subsequently we will proceed with the construction of the new buildings from the ground up, using forms able to coexist with the pre-established industrial and surrounding natural environment. The new industrial structure will be based on the principle of recovery.

La Espiral Cuadrada Architectural Competion 2018
- WORK EXPERIENCE -
34/70
The competition COAM Madrid had the design and the management of work of three municipal libraries in Madrid as a goal (Las Tablas, Montecarmelo and Villaverde). After various analyses and precise assessments, with Architect Zetti, we decided to work mainly on the project of the municipal library of Las Tablas.
The main objectives have been to design an architecture that integrates perfectly into its environment, revitalizing it and giving the community a new cultural center. The morphology of the exterior and interior space is designed so that the visit to the library is not a mere act of consultation and reading, insofar as it is not essential, but a real experience for the inhabitants of Las Tablas, as it allows a real architectural promenade.
IT Y
The project “La Espiral Cuadrada” allows for an architectural permeability that is necessary through its shape and relationship. After a urban and strict study, connections are being established between the internal space and its surrounding, between the public and the private area.
Y “La Espiral Cuadrada” is a project that takes the citizenship dimension into consideration. All specific requirements for the comunity have been considered. The village has been offered a square where to meet and with different activities.

RESTORATION PROJECT FOR THE FLORENCE’S CHARTERHOUSE
38/70
The Monasterial Complex is located on the top of Monte Acuto, near the ancient village of Galluzzo located 5 km south of Florence. The restoration project consists of consolidating and designing an exhibition space inside Palazzo Acciaioli, an ancient Renaissance palace, part of the monasterial complex.
MASTER’S STUDIO PROJECT FOURTH YEAR OF STUDY - 2018 FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE UNIFI UNIVERSITY OF FLORENCE,
After a first phase of analysis of deterioration and structural calculations, the design idea consists of creating an exhibition space full of mental projections, filters and forms through which to recount places, instants, institutions. This gives life to a dynamic and changing space in which it becomes possible to access a pure, ethereal dimension, in continuous dialogue with the contemporary environment, whose cultural, social and identity codes’ acts may become constituent parts.

The idea of absent mateiral has been translated into the temporary exhibition hall through mobile and reversible panels that are used as a support for the projection of 3D Art. They allow a dematerialization of the visual space when passing by, the visitor can have different perceptions of the expoure. The dematerialization is also found in
the permanent exhibition hall, but is designed differently. The permanent hall displays the history and architectural typology of the Certose Here, visual perception dialogues with space and history. The project includes a contemporary representation of the various certoses present in Tuscany, creating a dialogue between ancient and new.
The picture on the right represents the binary system used for the sliding doors of the conference room. With the same mechanism as the temporary room, the tracks are built into the floor and allow the doors (in this case) to slide.

The area designated for the realization of the project is located in a very delicate point of the city of Prato. Actually, it represents the point of contact between the built of the city and a new park inside the green canyon placed next to the lot in question. The project fits right into this urban redevelopment project.
In order to better respond to this task of mediation between two different parts of the city that meet right in our project lot, it was decided to realize a dematerialization effect that concerns the organization of external spaces. One of the most important aspects of the entire building is the entrance cut: through the creation of an internal courtyard and the cutting of a corner of the building, in fact, the entrance of the public space inside is allowed.

On the other hand, the design and structural detail of the external ramp leading to the upper floors has been solved by conceiving it as a box-shaped element with a triangular section formed by three metal plates that
describe the external profile and internal stiffening handkerchiefs to give greater strength. The ramp becomes selfsupporting, reinfored only on the rear front by hooks to the climbing wall made of reinforced concrete.

STRUCTURAL VERIFICATION WITH THE STRAUSS SOFTWARE
Prato’s Sports Center, Italy Master’s Studio Project 2018
From the analysis carried out with the Strauss 7 software, a load peak was initially detected at the point where the wall beam becomes a shelf. Being the main problem, the excessive compression of the lower wing has opted for the increase of the same to have a greater surface distribution of stress through the bolting of three metal plates of 20 mm thickness each in order to create a new section with lower wing from 90 mm of thickness.

The gymnasium has been designed as a multi-purpose space that could be used for both basketball and voleyball and also, being conceived a a large void on which the side tribune faces, can also be lent to public events such as concerts, performances, awards and conference. The roofs of both gyms are supported by a reticular truss system composed of hollow circular profiles used to have a softer and more dynamic

image. These beams are visible to the eye of the viewer only on the sides because the central part of the two rooms is “false ceiling” throught the use of polycarbonate panels that, illuminated from above, acts as a large chandelier and at the same time allows you to read the mesh of beams through the imprint of the shadow. Finally, it was decided to exploit the coverage space as well. This space is left completely available to users.
Prato’s Sports Center, Italy Master’s Studio Project 2018
The gymnasium has been very well designed as a multifaceted space that may be used for either sportive activities, either pupular musical events or international conferences. The entrance to the actual building can be accessed through two different entrances that are that of the hall through the court, and that of the bar, under the shelf. After which, you have access to all the necessary services.

The project deals with designing 10 flats of different typologies in the center of Paris. The place is characterized by the wealth of heritage in the heart of an intense contemporary tourist traffic. The project fits well in the urban context, thus creating a link between the outside and the inside, between the passers-by and the inhabitants, between circulation of the city
in movement and the vertical circulation of the building. We are both inside the building, while being still outside. The corridors and the common stairs allow to have a relationship with the sloping street and the building, accentuated by a visual diagonal that is done at the level of the reception connecting the street to the private interior garden, inviting to enter it. It is a place of relax and conviviality, allowing an important bioclimatic solution: natural light is obviously favoured.

The continuity is reinforced by the idea of a vertical vegetation, allowing among others a comfort to the inhabitants by hiding the vis-a-vis between housing, but also splitting spaces between night and day. Most of these accomodations benefit from a double orientation, i.e. bedrooms oriented to the north and living-rooms to the south. The vertical circulation moves in facade and makes it dynamic. It allows, moreover, to benefit from a particular sight on the city, in connection with the direction of the slope, resulting in a common roof terrace. Similarly, the traffic being north, it allows to have a set of volumes, light and openings on the south side.

The project forecasts the construction of a library in the center of Paris. The design work of the architectural idea, suggested by the academic activity, is inspired by the techniques of modern architecture: the collaboration between the arts to bring exprissivity and emotion to architecture as those latters where lacking.
The library project proposes a “U” morphology in order to allow the opening to the city and to create various spaces fit for the reading. Thus, the project focuses on the circular path within the architecture, around an empty space, offering a place to gather, discuss and possibly read outside. The interior spaces are designed to offer more or less intimate places, enjoying views of the outside, while articulating around the central space.
Design the Circle Bachelor Studio Project 2016
The project is inspired by the logic of Kandinsky’s painting: Circles in a Circle. The will is to retranscribe to architecture the elements in tension, circular, closes and superimposed that the painting evokes. The immaterial circle is designed within the inner path. The other elements bring life to the equipment.

The interior of the library is designed to differentiate the spaces in function of the necessary sound quality. Thus, the path provides forecasts the passsage trough the noisiest spaces to arrive to the less noisy (reading and working areas).

TRASPARENCY IN MOVEMENT
Design the Circle Bachelor Studio Project 2016
The vertical circulation is located on the internal facade overlooking the courtyard. The stairs are open, glazed and equipped with a self-supporting flexible structure allowing a direct relationship between the inside and the outside. Furthermore, this allows the circulation space to be separated from the reading spaces by a movable panel system which also acts as a sunscreen for diffused natural light favorable to reading. The facade evokes a “transparency in movement”.

The project is inked in a dense urban site and comes into contact with visitors at Boulevard Richard Lenoir, a trafficked boulevard in the heart of Paris. This is a sports complex including a semi-underground pool, four mixed basketball and volleyball courts and a dance hall. The project wants to maintain permeability as much as possible.
The project advances on the city by inviting the passers-by to enter it. This allows to have a horizontal project, slender, while keeping an idea of lightness. The architecture also opens inside creating a visa-vis between sports areas, centered on a dominant terrace facilitating an activity of restoration and rest. Thus, several levels of soil were created allowing to give different atmospheres and preserving as much as possible a public equiped place open to the community.
Ground floor
Visual permeability lies in the center of the project. The ground floor consists of a terracing of floors, creating a reminder of the dynamism of the contemporary city and also allowing the intimacy of each atmosphere and space. Upstairs, the sporting areas enjoy an extraordinary view of the architectural heritage of the city, offered through large windows, protected by sunscreens, and giving a large enlightened surface, lit in a diffuse way, ideal for sportive activities.
