foreword This is a portfolio containing my personally currated artwork dating from year 2019 to 2020. The content of this portfolio is mainly personal projects with a couple university assignments that I deemed worthy enough. I want to thank my best friend Sat, who became my support system towards me creating the content to this portfolio. Also a special thanks to him for always being a free ride home. :) I want to thank Ndos, who always reminded me to get off my ass and finish this goddamn portfolio. I want to thank him also for making me realize my full potential in being an artist. I also want to thank the countless cigarettes I’ve smoked and the countless cans of coffee I’ve drank to get me through rigourous nights of not sleeping. And last but not least, I want to thank my laptop for putting up with the shit I make it go through.
about me Hi, there! Kids in my uni sometimes call me Ny, short for Nyssa. I go by choppedduck online. Alright. Where do I start? God, I’m so fucking bad at this. I guess I could start by talking about myself, since this is the about me section. Trust me, I’m better at this introducing shit when in person. Haha. design
I’m a visual communication student at ITS, currently on a 7th semester (what a journey that had been). I’m on the 23rd year of my life, which means finding myself and adulting— which is a whole journey of it’s own. I’m an aspiring concept artist and character designer looking for experience on my journey to find myself and express myself through my art. If I could describe myself with one word, it would definitely be “unpredictable”. Why? Because I’m the type of person that loves adventure— not the nature type, but adventuring life and what it has installed for me. I’m a very curious person, I love learning new things and take on new challenges the world has to offer. I’m also super outgoing if the time and place is right, and I can get super quiet and borderline antisocial when I feel like shutting down and keeping things to myself. I like to push myself to the limit, and can multitask and work under pressure very well. I’m also a perfectionist, and have a strong idealism towards certain things, which is why the title of my portfolio suits me. OH! I might look intimidating, but honestly, I’m a softy. haha! And I guess that’s about it. I’d rather spill the details if we meet in person. Cheers. Ny, 2019.

epilogue So you’ve made it to the end of the journey. I hope what I’ve arranged here will give you a slight picture in my capabilities and what I have to offer. This is not the end, though. I’m still working hard every day perfecting my style, my artwork, exploring new techniques and trying new things. And I hope to share it with you one day if I have the chance. I guess I should end this with a quote because that’s what people do, right? So here goes.... “Expect the unexpected. Because life is not worth living if you don’t take risks.” This has been Ny. Thank you. xx
