FROM THE EDITOR
Welcome to the 2020-2021 Sing! Choral Release! We are excited to present new choral works from your favorite Sing! composers and some amazing newcomers in a wide variety of styles and voicings to suit elementary, middle, junior and high school choirs. Since its inception, the mission of Sing! has been to publish the very best choral works, each with age-appropriate texts, good voice leading and part writing, and creative yet supportive accompaniments. And as the new editor of Sing!, my utmost desire and goal is to continue to offer to you high-quality publications that are designed to spark creativity, enhance joyful music-making, and engage artistry in your choral program. I feel fortunate to have spent 18 years in the choral classroom, with students ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade, so I realize the importance of presenting repertoire to students that will challenge them musically, build them artistically, and fulfill them as aspiring young musicians. In assembling this year’s release, I reviewed each piece from a director’s point-of-view and feel strongly that you and your students will find great joy and fulfillment in learning and performing these outstanding choral selections. Here’s hoping you have a fantastic school year, filled with many memorable and exciting moments with your students, both in your rehearsals and on stage!
