Dear Choristers Guild Family,
Communities gravitate toward music in times of uncertainty. Musicians offer solace and hope in the form of a melody––oftentimes the simplest. What happens in a musical ensemble is no small miracle, I think. Music is created by people of different ages, backgrounds, beliefs, and abilities who come together for a shared purpose: to make art.
This art is sometimes an act of worship, other times a beacon of hope, or even something that pushes the boundaries of what’s accepted or understood.
The last few months have seen natural disasters uproot our dear neighbors – from hurricanes to wildfires to floods to droughts. A contentious election has deepened divisions between both friend and stranger. Conflicts and wars and injustices continue.
In the midst of all this, what can we offer?
No doubt your music ministry is turning to pieces in your library that are well-worn and wellknown, providing immense comfort and steadiness for troubled times. As we look toward the future with hope, Choristers Guild has curated a Spring release of new choral titles that offer assurance of God’s love and send us on our way to live out our faith in word and deed.
These are anthems that tell of God’s care and blessing, that remind us of Jesus’ saving love for all, that give thanks for our communities – the family we find along the way, and that call us to our best selves for the sake of the world.
Our team at Choristers Guild is so grateful for the work you do. We are holding you in prayer as you journey with your singers and ringers into this new year and beyond. May our music never cease; for the gift of music helps us find our way back to one another, back to our shared identity as beloved children of God.
…through all the tumult and the strife, I hear the music ringing.

Written for Choristers Guild’s 75th Anniversary, this anthem celebrates the many ways we can praise God - with instruments, with our bodies, and with our voices. Composer Toni Sullivan finds the ideal balance of singable and expressive in her Rote to Note anthems, and this is no exception. Phrases rise in all the right places to feature tall vowels and the poetic nature of her writing connects with children as they sing their faith.

The memorable hook of this joyful refrain captures the best part of singing in a choir - it’s a family!
