Studio Brief 3 OUGD403: Rationale Typeface based off the word ‘Younger’
Having been given the word ‘Younger’ meaning ‘having lived or existed for only a short time’, ‘relating to or consisting of young people’ or ‘immature or inexperienced’, I interpreted this in many ways. I focused primerily on the youthful aspect aswell as the immature definition to base my typeface off. The typeface aims to be timid yet playful which are typical personality traits for young children. The timid aspect comes into play
classroom graphics such as posters. Its simplicity would also make it perfect for handwriting books especially because of thewv exagerated features, this could help younder children learn how to write. This is further demonstarted by smaller vowels; the idea behind this was to have two consecutive vowels on a word appear ontop of one another as this would help children with pronouncing the sounds such as ‘ie,’ ‘oo’ and
