CHECKOUT TOMORROW

In 2022, AKTO art & design college celebrated its 50th year, and for that reason, an art show was organized with a selection of old students participating. But the theme of the show had nothing to do with this, and in consultation with the headmaster of graphic design at AKTO, we decided we should embrace the political issues that concern us and the rest of the world and combine them with graphic design to present them.

For the promotion of the art show, we gathered and created, with mixed mediums and techniques, two 1x2 meter posters. In them, we can see the different styles all combining into one organic form without any constraints or prior planning.

Also, we decided to present an art piece as a team. In this case, we wanted to do something about the war in Ukraine. I came up with the phrase that each one of us could create a letter with any medium we wanted. The phrase was “0 Days Without War” (greek: 0 ΜΗΔΕΝ ΜΕΡΕΣ and it was inspired by the need for people to count days for things we do and brag about them, such as “I have 10 days to eat meat.” So if someone were counting the days without war in the world, he would be stuck at zero. But, as history teaches us, this is true not only of the Ukraine war but of humanity as a whole.
