Since the company started in 2007, they have installed over 3 Mega Watts of Solar PV panels (equating to approx. 12,800 solar panels) on domestic / commercial and agricultural roofs across the Wiltshire and surrounding areas, off-setting approximately 68,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide over the next 25 years. As well as Solar PV, they now install biomass heating systems for commercial, industrial and domestic properties.

Solar PV Solar PV is still a very attractive option for homeowners and

business alike. Constantly rising electricity prices mean that the contribution that the PV system makes to energy usage is becoming more and more valuable. This coupled with the government FIT (feed in tariff) means that the systems as well as being ecological make financial sense too. Biomass Heating The rising star in the renewables industry – biomass is becoming more and more popular. Most systems use either wood pellets or wood chip to heat your property. For commercial systems (including farms, homes where small businesses are operated and district heating – multiple properties) there is a very good government backed RHI (renewable heat incentive) available. This is in the form of a payment made to you for the heat that you generate. The cost of biomass fuels is also less than that of Oil or LPG. The government has now announced its plans for the domestic RHI for Biomass, Solar Thermal and Heat Pumps.

The biomass RHI is expected to be at least 12.2p per unit of heat produced and will be paid for a period of 7 years. The heat requirements for domestic properties will be determined through the undertaking of a Green Deal Assessment, for example a 4 bedroom detached house may have a deemed heart usage of 22,000 units per year – the RHI payments would equate to £2,684.00 per year for seven years.
