Cleaning diamond stylus Normally it is not necessary to touch the diamond. It is possible to avoid all contact with the diamond when mounting and unmounting the stylus on the engraving head with the Hell stylus mounting device. The diamond should only be cleaned using the cut edge of the elder pith. It is important to ensure that the contact surface of the elder pith always remains free of impurities.

It is also important to ensure that “woodyâ€? parts of the elder pith never come into contact with the diamond. The freshly cut surface of the elder pith must be briey dipped in acetone and is then ready for cleaning the diamond.
