FIRST

FEMALE SALE

DUNLAP IOWA 12 PM 1 2 / 1 3 / 14

Welcome to the 2014 First Class Female Sale. It is hard to believe this sale has rolled around again. The cattle represented here are all the result of what all of us have decided to turn loose. We have concentrated hard to bring the best cattle and the best pedigrees to the table for this sale. The selection criteria has not changed or deviated for many years or many generations. Quality and visual appraisal such as soundness, femininity and yet being stout made have been the most important criteria, followed by passion and desire for eye appeal and phenotype. We feel that this is the deepest set of females we have ever offered. There is not much difference in the definition of quality, day in and day out. If we can produce cattle that provide a foundation for other producers to build on and build their cash flow with some of the females and pedigrees that have worked for us, we feel we have done our job. Type changes and emphasis on traits may come and go over the years but the definition of quality and efficiencies will always remain the same. All operations involved in the sale look forward to this time of year. It is a lot of fun to see such a group of high quality females clipped and pictured and brought to town all in one spot. It has been a little different this year in preparing for the sale as we are missing one of our partners. Nick was more than just a partner in this sale. He was one of our best friends and he was a friend to everyone in the business. He loved this time of year and looked forward to the First Class Female Sale. Nick valued two things greatly and those are the same things that make the business go around: Surround yourself with great people and great cattle. With that being said, things sure aren’t the same without him but his family are great people and their goal still remains the same and that is to offer the highest quality cattle they can produce. Nick has and will be missed in this business as well as in this sale but he will never, ever be forgotten. We welcome all of you to come join us in Dunlap on Saturday, December 13th at NOON. Cattle can be viewed on the farm until Wednesday, December 10 and at Dunlap Livestock starting Friday, December 12. We appreciate your interest. If you have any questions about this sale, or past purchases, just give us a call. We look forward to visiting and assisting you in any way we can. See you Saturday, December 13th in Dunlap. Thanks again for your interest. We really do appreciate it. The Breeders of the First Class Female Sale Reimann Ranch Chris Rosa Brad Smith Wade Rodgers

LOT 142

A full sib sold for $15,000 a couple of years ago. This Ali daughter is one of the younger breds in the sale. She is out of a great cow that has done a excellent job producing for the ranch. Donít let this freaky necked awesome structured heifer slip away from you on sale day.

LOT 143

This shaggy haired Ali is out of 578 that is selling in the sale also. She is a full sib to the heifer that the Paul Miller family showed and did a lot of winning with. Hint: the reason we tried to make another one and it worked!

LOT 144 With Thriller semen in low supply and high demand; this smooth, good looking, hairy female will make someone a whale of a cow. LOT 145 This heifer has been the favorite of many people that have been through the set. She is perhaps one of the stoutest daughters of Bojo that we

have sold but still maintains a great front end and tremendous eye appeal. This female was Reserve Champion Commercial Heifer at the Minnesota Beef Expo, District Reserve Champion Breeding Heifer at the Clay County Fair and Supreme Reserve Breeding Heifer at the Clay County Fair. She was also several time class winner this year. Successfully shown by the Bormann family, this is a great female.

LOT 146

Check this one out sale day. She comes from one of the most proven cow families on the ranch. 6 322 is her half sib and raised a $24,000 Smilin Bob steer. Her dam 2 322 stood by our side year after year producing maternal females in and out!

LOT 147

ASA #X4210028 - This daughter of CYT Maxim has style written all over her. She is perfectly balanced with a great look and eye appeal. She is great through her head and neck and blends a strong top into a beautiful shoulder. She is ultra sound on her feet and legs and moves fluidly. Visitors over the last 2 months have liked her a lot. Her dam is the Celine cow that was a many time champion for the Faber Family.

LOT 148

This heifer stems back to the great 5-36 donor fresh off her last win at the Minnesota State Fair. The 5-36 donor produced over $100,000 in two years sparingly flushed. This heifer has the genetics to work. Donít pass her up on sale day.

LOT 149

This heifer is better than what her picture shows. We donít claim to know anything about raising simmy heifers, but Nick always loved the Harwood 209’s and they have never led us astray. This one is no exception.

LOT 150 This is a cow man’s kind: Extra good footed, super balanced and structured; her I-80 calf is one to look forward to! LOT 151

This Hereford beauty has been a favorite of mine. She is fluid in her movement for all the muscle she carries. Maidrite cows are going to prove themselves as some of the best. This one will consistently produce high quality calves out of a variety of matings.

LOT 152

This is a super stout Monopoly granddaughter that is massive boned, tremendously thick, deep bodied and very powerful. This is a powerful group but she just might have the widest top and most powerful hip. Believe it or not, she is one of the best haired as well.

LOT 153

This butterscotch beauty has been a favorite of mine She is fluid in her movement for all the muscle she carries. Man Among Boys cows are going to prove themselves as some of the best. This one will consistently produce high quality calves our of a variety of matings.

LOT 154

Powerful and Feminine best describes this low percentage Maine female. Take note of the hip and hind leg of this heifer combined with her look and broodiness, she has female written all over her. She is super long necked with loads of quality. One of our favorites; this is donor material. She represents the type of cattle that we feel work in any operation for any purpose.

LOT 155 This one is the total package. Bone, mass, and muscle combined with hair and a monderate frame. LOT 156

ASA #AR58352 - THF - This is a really fancy Monopoly daughter out a great Sonny cow. This fancy bred, that is TH free will make a very valuable brood cow in raising % Shorthorn or club calves. She is extra deep ribbed with a showy look. We are extremely excited about her potential.

LOT 157 This Paddy is big middled, sound structured, and wide pinned. She is exactly what we have come to expect from her great dam every year! LOT 158

Going back to the great 51 Red Hot donor purchased by Ty Warren in Texas in last year’s sale. Phenom has been a bull that is very highly respected at the ranch for replacement heifers.

LOT 159 The few Scoreboards we’ve seen at the Morris Ranch really intrugued us, as you see there are a couple in the sale. LOT 160

This heifer hails from the Tucker and Merle Morris ranch in Montana. We are really impressed with how the Scoreboards have matured into nice uniform bred heifers. This one is extremely flat shouldered, super athletic, and good looking.

LOT 161 This sharper freakier Simple Man daughter will pay early and often. Note the better neck and the improved bone size. LOT 162

This is a super stout Steel Force granddaughter that is massive boned, tremendously thick, deep bodied and very powerful. This is a powerful group but she just might have the widest top and most powerful hip.

LOT 163

Her full sib sold for $30,000 in the last Sweetheart Sale. The Trailblazer flush on Donor 400 was automatic. Make sure you find her and flushmates sale day. They are all peas in a pod. With the Trailblazer on top and the heat wave on the bottem you can’t go wrong raising males or females.

LOT 164

These Walks Alone females need no introduction to those who have any, they are good milking, good pelvic sized, dollar generating machines. She is out of a proven Cigar female from the Hainy program. Donít hesitate on sale day!

LOT 165

Southern boys pay attention here. She has got the look, the power, and the structure to raise a champion. Her first calf could pay for what the heifer will bring. She has cow written all over her.

LOT 166

If this mating doesn’t work, then I don’t know what will. She could be one of the most maternal Yellow Jackets I’ve seen; she has cow written all over her. But perhaps most importantly is her cow family. She is out of a Bleed Purple heifer that was successfully campaigned and very seldom beat by the PAGE 55 VICKLAND family. I am a firm believer in a good cow family.
