RETAINED BREEDING INTEREST
Vanhove Cattle Company retains the right to two successful flushes on every female in the sale, at the new owner’s convenience and the seller’s expense.
BREEDING GUARANTEE
All females are sold under the condition “safe in calf” as attested to by a licensed veterinarian and sell with no further guarantee. The ultrasound results reported are as accurate as possible. No guarantee is given that bred females will deliver a live calf.
PREGNANCY TESTS
Careful consideration was given when selecting the cattle for the sale in reference to A.I. service. We feel that the majority of the cattle selling are safe to their A.I. date or the approximate due date that is given. Please make sure that you do not confuse A.I. service date with approximate due date. Some of the females that were only exposed to the pasture sires are given an approximate due date in correlation with the vet examination. While we cannot guarantee A.I. service, we are confident that a large part of the offering is A.I. safe. Any additional pregnancy testing will be available on the sale supplement sheet.

LOT 1 • VANHOVE 8057 • 2018 • SIRE: WHIZARD DAM: HEAT WAVE X MEYER
SELLING 1/2 EMBRYO INTEREST ONLY - SELLS OPEN READY TO FLUSH
History repeats itself here. The Dakota Classic has been led off by Whizard daughters more than once, and several of those past matrons are now leading the charge in this business, we see it as a rather hallowed appointment. The Lot 1 cow for this edition of the Dakota Classic surpasses any possible hype we could bestow upon her. 8057 ranks right up there on the best cows to have ever roamed Lake County, and as a cow in production she is in phase one of etching her name among the most potent matriarchs of the VCC. She is the dam of Mallory Koehm’s 4th Overall Champion Prospect at the 2023 Iowa Beef Expo and Reserve Champion Steer at Down 4 the Cause. We have never we felt more strongly about a blue chip level investment opportunity than this right here, a young, clean blooded, reliable pedigreed cow that will print dollar bills like an ATM. Jump on board because it is going to be a fun ride here.

Siblings to this mating have won the toughest shows in the nation, and there is no end in sight for what they are capable of achieving. If you are looking for a sure bet, then best place one here because this one has the credentials to make big things happen!

This daughter of GAIG is a complete freak of nature in the way she can tie such a tidy neck so high off of a soft shoulder angle yet open up to being so massive behind her blade and robust in her body cavity. A hip so wide and square, but also so deep in her twist and muscular all the way to the ground. Monstrous in her bone and foot size. Hairy. Neat colored. Future donor or herd sire in her Uterus. Here we have one that is next level good! Both phenotype and pedigree align here for creating a fairytale scenario. Her Headliner dam put in the hard yards for our program in the beginning, and still to this day has been a force with a flush mate steer to 937 that was the Pratt families Champion Lightweight Steer at the Royal just a couple of years ago. All the substance and power you could ever ask for, she is short backed and super chubby built. She tested clean, and her phenotype is futuristic, regardless of mating she has all the traits to raise cattle for the times. I hate to even think about letting this one go, because you cannot make them any more intriguing. We also think that this is the right situation to use IGWT on a black hided one.

This young cow reminds us a lot of her mother, she is longer spined, incredible profiling, appears smooth from the side but is so extra powerful and wide when you get up on her. The Tyson 929 Donor has been a shining star and matriarchal figure of our program for over a decade. She has proven to be so versatile as a breeding piece too generating both show steers and show heifers who are in large demand. Over 25 full brothers to this young, clean donor prospect have averaged over $16,000 through the pasture sale over the years, this one has the resume to be a household name just like her mother.

Straight up bones underneath her with joints that flex exactly how you want them to. 651 sells as a proven producer that has already generated a 25k steer and a heifer that was Reserve Shorthorn plus in KC. Simmental enthusiasts gather around. This Purebred red head is something special, and has been every single day of her life. They don’t make purebred stock like this every day of the week. This On the Mark daughter is picture perfect in her outline and build, is perfect in her frame size and remarkable in her structural kind. Her dam is an LLSF Uprising out of a full sister to the industry legend, SVF Steel Force, the good stuff is bred right into this one and reveals why she is such an outlier herself. The results of her mating to Bet On Red could blow the doors wide open on a breeding career that reaches legendary status.

There is quite the cow family behind this young donor prospect. The A369 Powerline cow has been a trident producer for us in Madison, this would be the 5th daughter of hers to be featured in the Dakota Classic, and they have all sold onto some of the business’ most savvy cowboys. A maternal sister by MAB was the panda marked donor that Justin Mogck sold a ½ interest of in his recent female and genetics sale, and the pair of sisters that sold prior and previous to her in the Dakota Classic sold for $16,000 and $15,000. This is an opportunity that needs taken if you are serious about building your program.

One that comes straight from the donor pen! This is hands down one of our favorite Merlin’s to have ever existed. One thing about the Merlin’s is they always out produce themselves from a phenotype standpoint, they may not be the first ones you pick out when going through a group of cows, but you always ask about their calves. In this situation everyone stops and stares at the whole package deal! The Flushes to Ain’t Bluffin leaves us with some incredible replacements, we think that the likes of HIA and his sons is going to mate up incredible here and we look forward to the ones we have coming. Hey, if you are serious about club calf production you better mark this one. She has no In God We Trust in her pedigree. IGWT are good cattle, but there are In God We Trust daughters on every street corner!! And if that bull threw some black ones, there’d be twice as many. What I’m getting at is when you can make cattle as good as this female and since she has no IGWT in her pedigree, a logical mating is to breed her next round to In God We Trust or one of his great sons. She’ll end up being cheap at whatever money she brings. Mark my word, this one has the pedigree and potential to have a champion someday.

We pride ourselves on annually being a source of breeding pieces that are going to generate immense profits, Lot 179 & unpictured Lot 342 have the credentials. Here we are selling a pair of full sisters sired by the breed influencing M&M Outsider 4003 that would be directly responsible for as many national champions breed for breed as any in history, and the stranglehold doesn’t seem to be weakening. These females’ stand out from what we perceive as the traditional Charolais, they are ultra good looking and feminine, and we think have the potential to raise show steers for the south, or purebred and composite show heifers.

She catches the eye of anybody who shows up to look at the farm real quick, not only based on her color, but perhaps more importantly her quality. This monster footed, gargantuan boned, stout built female is without a doubt the definition of a young Steer donor in the making but with that attractiveness and smooth well balanced look also leads me to believe that she could sire a show heifer that would hang a Banner. There is no question that she needs to be on your shortlist on December 30. It’s real simple on this heifer make money.

Getcha some females are going to be the real deal in my opinion. I sold two full sisters to this black-and-white beast last year and they’ve gone on to make tremendous cows for the respective buyers; whether they’re clean or dirty it doesn’t matter. It is hard to build cattle that balance this consistently. If this one would happen to be clean, Here I Am out of her will pay for her very rapidly. If she comes back a carrier, no big deal, she will still make you money. This black heifer will be a consistent generator you’re in and you’re out.

You combine that with a pedigree that reads true to her phenotype and it would be difficult to convince me that she won’t pay for herself in a hurry.

He has a great eye and speaks the truth and I appreciate that. He said “I think you would really like these.” He was spot on as usual. This solid black Bankroll heifer stems from one of his great young donors, and back to the famed Steel Magnolia cow. This heifer is so nicely built! Donor Potential!

He’s just a sharp cowboy, so I took his advice and bought this heifer. I absolutely love her. I love the way her neck comes high out of the top of her shoulder and then from there back, how powerful she is. Yet her best feature might be feet and leg structure and how well she moves. If you want to be extra critical, some might say she needs a shot of body, but hell I think it’s good enough. They used to say the same thing about me and mine came on very nicely!!

We offer considerable variety in the First Class Sale. If you like them the way we do, then you need to put a few stars by this Data Bank daughter. She goes back to one of the most consistent cows in the industry taking any guest work out of the longevity. She will mature with the ideal proportions that are hard to make but we think she ties them all together incredibly well. She’s set up to enter her profit-sharing career by the end of February with a May We All in the tank!
These Maine cattle are great. They are true sale features and they are high-quality every year. We have a few more and I think they are the same, or higher quality. Higher percentage Maine cattle have a great value now and will continue to have value. People are figuring out that you have to have Maine in there to get the bone and stoutness to make steers. Not only that, they have great maternal characteristics and are multi purpose breeding tools. Pay attention to cattle that are built like this incredible Done Deal daughter!

A PB Simmental heifer that goes back to the 41D donor of 4B. I don’t know how many dollars that donor cow has produced or how many champions, but it’s a lot in both columns!! There are a lot of sharp cowboys that will have their hands high in the air when this female walks in in the ring and rightfully so.
A Fu Man Chu X May We All daughter. Wow, a pretty cool bred heifer. She is a really good looking, super stout, huge boned steer maker. We feel this one is a building block to anybody’s herd and something to design an embryo program around. This has been one of my favorites since Day One.

There are just a few Shorthorn-marked females in the sale. All of them are very high-quality. Undoubtedly, good Shorthorn cattle and Shorthorn appearing cattle are as hot as it’s ever . It’s a shame we didn’t get this one pictured. We ran out of daylight. Her mom sold through this ring and was our high seller years ago to Clay Morrison. He flushed her to Getcha Some and as a result, created this exciting cow prospect. I think Getcha Somes have a lot of merit based on their belly, structure and look….all impeccable. Her unique coloring will give you lots of mating options to get the high dollar Shorthorn appearing cattle that you and the industry want.

I don’t know a thing about her pedigree, I’ll be the first to admit that, but I do know she is some kind of good! A perfect daughter of Here I Am. Add in that she goes back to a cow that is straight from the donor pen. She has the big features that you would expect and complimented with the added structure, look and longevity that comes standard from her maternal lineage. Some may think it’s irrelevant, but we love her big fluffy ears that stem high on her head just adding an extra layer of presence in this First Class female.
A very nice, moderate yellow heifer that reminds me a lot of the build of some of these colored females that we have sold in the past. She is pretty cool. I think this one is elite when you study this heifer’s type and kind. There are a lot of pieces that are unique. Make sure you find this angel on sale day if you’re looking for a young colored donor for your program.

This yellow heifer is backed by one of the most incredible cows that we A.I. on this farm. She originated from Chad Thompson and every calf she has is sellable progeny. There are two more daughters in the sale out of this heifer’s mother. You may build her a shot bigger in her kind, but I was always taught size doesn’t matter, just build them good and mate them right. That’s one thing that this heifer’s mother does and I expect her to do the exact same thing.
Pretty cool little white heifer. This is out of a young donor that we haven’t done much with yet, but we’re super high on. She has another sister in the First Class Sale that is awfully good as well. I promise you you’ll see big things out of this one’s mother in the years to come. This is an opportunity to get in! Her brothers brought $20,000 a year ago and both went on to be very successful. Somebody is going to make this young cow a successful cornerstone of their program.

An Insight daughter, that goes back to one of the greatest Angus cows to walk the hills of Estherville, Iowa. PB Angus!! Mahogany Prime caught on a lot in the last 2 or 3 calf crops. These cattle are incredible and you will appreciate that they have so many unique pieces for the PB. I’m not sure what her $B is or her $C…., but the one thing that I do know is that she looks awesome. She’s easy on the eyes. A Relentless female back to a Broker X Harrietta mother….how does it get any better? This female is bred higher than a woodpecker hole. Every once in a while, one comes along that just stops you in your tracks. My reaction was the same when I ran across this female. I just stopped and stared. Then I found her pedigree and the fact that she is bred the way she is and I was totally on board. Big-time donor sells right here, pay attention!!
A female that will be effective in both worlds….steers and heifers. As a sire group, these Remedy cattle have a lot of value and then you put a great cow family like 40–6 on the other side of this heifer’s pedigree; it creates the perfect world for good cattle producers. She is arrogant about her head and neck, robust in her rib design, smooth in her muscle and flawlessly structured. Whether you’re making males or females this one will do both and do both well!!
