Nick s’ Legacy
It is nearly impossible to put into words the emotions that our family has experienced while making the decision to sell the club calf cows offered in this sale. We have not made this decision lightly but have spent the last several months in prayer, searching for the best way to move forward as we continue to grieve our loss of Nick. It goes without saying that selling these cows brings us deep sorrow, as they represent the best of Nick’s lifetime of work in improving the genetics of the beef industry. Nick loved this business and spent countless hours on the road evaluating cattle and forging priceless relationships with so many people. Nick was a man of great vision, making breeding decisions based on what he felt would be needed in the future. He took advantage of every new technology as it was happening and was passionate about making the best decisions for the future.

forward in years to come to see the offspring of these cows in winner’s circles at fairs, shows and sales across the nation.
Nick was not a follower of trends, but an industry leader. His first priority was the benefits he could provide to his clients.
We have learned much from Nick’s death
Beyond our sorrow, we cannot minimize the pride we feel as a family to offer to you this once-ina-lifetime opportunity to buy this quantity of some of the finest genetics in the beef industry today. We know Nick and his innovations in breeding top quality cattle were respected industry wide, and we take great pride in knowing that. The concern, love and friendship offered to all of us during the last months have meant the world to us. It is because of those close relationships that Nick had with all of you that we find a sense of comfort in knowing that these cows will become an integral part of the top cattle herds in North America. These genetic lines will continue to change and improve the beef industry. Nick’s legacy will live on in your herds. We look
and have these thoughts to share with you. When this sale is over and the cattle are part of your herds, we urge you to set aside some time as a family. Treasure the time you have to spend together. Turn your cell phones off for a few hours, and reflect on the blessings of home, family and health. Nurture your faith, your family, and your relationships with friends. The time we have to spend with our loved ones is more precious and fleeting than we realize.

A.I. 6/9 Heat Wave | Safe P.E. Jack & Nick
This cow could lead off any sale in America! It takes cows built like this to raise show steers. It doesn’t matter what you breed her to, she will have one. 735 raised a $58,000 Heat Wave steer in 2014 that sold to Bonham, and in 2012 she raised a Heat Wave steer that sold for $13,500 to Goettemoeller. So, we bred her back to Heat Wave and she stuck again! The only mistake we ever made while we owned this bovine was not making her a donor cow. We hate to see this one go! Take her home, put her to work and work her hard. She won’t fail you—we know!

Talk about muscle, bone and a killer look. This bovine is geared to raise spring or fall borns. Her daughter sold as Lot 78 in the 2014 First Class Sale to Howdy Tucker.

This is one good looking, big boned, stout made female. It doesn’t get much better than having 4/705 as her dam—a leading donor at the ranch. Note that this cow is just a three-year-old and should have been lotted with the 2012 cows.
Just a 2012 model, 736/2 combines Paddy O’Malley and Slow Burn in one package! Serious steer producers, here she is. Her dam has been a great cow to us; she raised a $15,000 Heat Wave steer. 736/2 will follow her lead; find her sale day.

Big footed, free moving and good looking sums her up. She’s the right kind. Safe to the Denver crowd favorite Italian Stallion, who is backed by one of the most proven cows in the business, should pay dividends.
This cow is a complete package…soft footed, structurally sound, freaked necked and backed by a great pedigree. We think this female will add value to any program.
