Megan ’s M Message Megan Beauvais, Realtor® CalBRE #01426805 Ascent Real Estate

I

am veery proud and honored to announce that I have been awa w rded the Realtor® of the Year by the Greater SSan Dieggo Association of Realtors®. In conjunction with this recognition I thouggh htt it apt to make the generaal public aw ware of what it means to be a Reealtor®. Not a real estate ageent – but a Realtor®, an organization to whic h h I belong, support, and volunteer for in many capacities. Aren’t all real estate ageents you come across quallified to represent you with the salle or purchase of property? To help with property manageement? The answers is a cllear and emphatic “NO.” Sure, a Realtor® must pass the real estate licensing exam within their state of practice, but it goes

so much fu urther beyond passing a test. Realtors® are bound by a code of ethics whic h h focusess on treating all parties respectfully, fairly, and profeessionally. We have duties to the gen e eraal public and duties to other Realtorss® whic h h we must uphold. If found not be upholding these duties, hich that behaviior there is a proceess by wh can be corrected througgh the Association – whic h h give you, the consumerr, an added pad of protection. If you find yourself workin i g with a real estate ageent who is not a Realtor®, but only a licensee, you may find you are workiing with somebody who may not abide by the same profeessional standards of cconduct that you woulld expect, t and that would work in i protectin i g your position througghout any given e transaction. Out of more than 12,500 members of our Association, I was selected Ambassador of my industry. I have been recognized for my commitment to upholding the code of ethics in eveery interaction, for my commitment to ongoing support and betterment of the communities I serve (that’s where you come in Ken e sington and Tallmadggee), and for my volunteer eff ffo orts within my Association, serving on three committees as well as an incoming Director of the Board at the Greater San Dieggo Association of Realtors®. If you have eveer given e thougght to selling or purchasing property anywhere in the Uni n ted States, I encourage you to be sure you are contracting with a bona fide Realtor® (I am happy to reffeer you to one) and iff requirin ng real estate serviices rigght here in San Dieego, give me a try – after all, SDAR has alreaady vet e ted me for you!
