‘I love food, I love food from everywhere. I love to eat and I love to put those flavors together,’ says City Tacos owner Gerry Torres.

Not many chefs can make a taco like the ones made at City Tacos. Owner Gerry Torres and chef Eduardo Baeza, his partner, crank out a taco with a decidedly Mexican base, but with some international flare. There are influences from Italian and French cuisine as well as the freshest fruits and vegetables that give City Tacos an upscale taste compared to the average taco shop. All that has customers coming back over and over again. Read Mikaela Duhs’ story on the unique shop on PAGE 10

Actor David Duchovny Comes to The Music Box You thought actor David Duchovny only tracked aliens in the “X-Files”? Think again. The versatile star just released a debut album, “Hell or Highwater,” and will sing with his backup group Weather Feb. 12 at The Music Box. PG. 9

CORRECTION: A headline on the front page of last month’s North Park News erroneously stated that North Park resident Michael Abrams suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Abrams, whose mountain climbing exploits were described in the story, actually has Parkinson’s disease. The mistake was the editor’s, not the writer’s. The North Park News regrets the error.

Owner Gerry Torres has created an exhilarating experience for customers at his North Park taco shop that is filled with daring combinations that leave locals and tourists alike wanting more of this tasty stray from traditional Mexican food.
