You’ve probably heard the term “Huffman” in reference to the apartment complexes that dot the landscape in North Park and other areas. Utilitarian is a way to describe them. Or bland. Or built from a template. They are two stories, have a sideways orientation to the street and have a broad concrete pad out front for parking. Katherine Hon, secretary of the North Park Historical Society says these project may be displaced if the North Park Community Plan Update is approved, much to the displeasure of affordable housing proponents.
