Two  days  before  you  make  the  cake  place  the  sultanas,  currants  and  mixed  peel  in  a  bowl  with  the  lemon  juice,  brandy  and  orange  juice,  mixing  well  and  leaving  to  one  side  for  the  fruit  to  soak  up  the  liquid.  This  will  produce  a  much  moister  Ä?Ä‚ĹŹÄž Ç ĹšÄžĹś Ä?Ä‚ĹŹÄžÄšÍ˜ WĆŒÄžͲŚĞĂƚ ƚŚĞ ŽǀĞŜ ƚŽ ϭϹϏ ÍŹ'Ä‚Ć? he boundaries of the old Nea House estate ǁĞƌĞ ,ŝŶƚŽŶ tŽŽĚ ǀĞŶƵĞ͕ EĞĂ ZŽĂĚ ĂŶĚ ^ŵƵŐŐůĞƌƐ >ĂŶĞ ĂƐ ĨĂƌ ŶŽƌƚŚ ĂƐ ƚŚĞ ƌĂŝůǁĂLJ ůŝŶĞ ĞŶ-­‐ ĐŽŵƉĂƐƐŝŶŐ ƚŚĞ ĞƐƚĂƚĞ ŽĨ tŝŶŐĮĞůĚ͘ dŚĞ ŶŽƌƚŚĞƌŶ part of the estate comprised Nea Wood, a valuable ƉůĂŶƚĂƟŽŶ ŽĨ ƟŵďĞƌ͘ /Ŷ ϭϳϮϴ ƚŚĞ ĞƐƚĂƚĞ ǁĂƐ ƐŽůĚ ƚŽ ŚĂƌůĞƐ ƌĂŶĚĞƌ͕ ĨĂƚŚĞƌ ŽĨ 'ƵƐƚĂǀƵƐ ƌĂŶĚĞƌ͕ who spent the last years of his life at Nea House. The entrance gate, ǁŚŝĐŚ ĐĂŶ ƐƟůů ďĞ ƐĞĞŶ͕ ŝƐ ŽŶ ǁŚĂƚ ǁĂƐ ƉƌĞǀŝŽƵƐůLJ ĐĂůůĞĚ /ĐĞ ,ŽƵƐĞ ,ŝůů͕ ƐŽ ŶĂŵĞĚ ďĞĐĂƵƐĞ ĂŶ ŝĐĞͲ cooled underground game larder had been built at the place. The name of the road is now Hinton tŽŽĚ ǀĞŶƵĞ͘ dŚĞ ŚŽƵƐĞ ǁĂƐ ďƵŝůƚ ŽĨ ďƌŝĐŬ ĂŶĚ plaster cast with a grey slate roof.
