Splashy New Year

Most of us at Active Fitness spent our teens playing sports and training in the gym to get fitter, stronger and faster. Our own experiences confirm the benefits of training from a young age.

A POWERFUL COMBINATION

Training in the gym while playing sports is a huge advantage. I recall playing rugby as a teenager, and not being big enough or fast enough to make it to the first team. Being 14 years old, I was obsessed with getting bigger and faster, so I joined the gym and started working out. I met a great trainer who gave me the guidance I needed to increase my size, strength and speed. With the right training and nutrition advice, I quickly achieved my goals, joined the team and started playing the sport I loved at the level I wanted. (It also created a future career path for me, but that is another story!)

CONFIDENCE AND COURAGE

When we launched personal training at the Swiss Club in 2014, there was only one young adult among our first group of clients. We successfully mentored and guided him over the years, which resulted in him becoming stronger, fitter and more confident in himself.

Besides looking and feeling good, being fit has many positive mental benefits for young adults, including boosting self-confidence. This in turn helps you muster up the courage to do things which you might otherwise find daunting.

Seeing the large positive impact we could make on young adults, we developed various youth programmes aimed at males and females, young adults and kids.

NEVER TOO YOUNG (OR OLD)

As you embark on a new year, remember that you’re never too young to start your fitness journey. If you’re looking to boost your physical strength and personal confidence, or want to gain an edge in your chosen sports, let’s talk soon. We’ll do our best to help you realise your goals.
