Local Committee President 2016-2017 Application Booklet AIESEC in Minsk
Dear applicants!
To be honest, it took me a lot of time to write this letter. It was really hard to realize that the time you had in this organization passed so quickly and now I need to fill all the experience I lived in just a few pages… This year AIESEC became a part of my life, or better to say, it was my life due to all the people I met and experience I lived. When I look back, one quote comes to my mind: “It wasn't easy, but it worthed it”. Each minute, each effort I took, each struggle I lived led to amazing results I had never expected…Now it’s your turn to have this experience. The year ahead will change you as a person. It will give you a strength to face challenges and to be sure that there is always a solution to a problem, it will give you the power to dream, because dreams are to come true as long as you work hard, it will help you to gain a confidence and self-respect. You will do 100 things you had never done before, leave your comfort zone almost for every day and start to see the world above the limits and prejudices. This is what happened with me. Being an LCP gives you one huge advantage that I doubt you will experience somewhere else in your life: you can create an impact around you. With your help someone will achieve the goals that are so important for him, turn his weaknesses into strengths, someone will find a true friend, someone will stop being afraid of changes and raise to the challenge ahead. You will have an opportunity to lead teams that will become much more than just teams…And your success will be the success of these teams. In some time you will see people around you developing and growing, you will see them becoming a better and kinder version of themselves. This was the best feeling for me. My personal motivation throughout the year. Because for me AIESEC - is about connection. Connection you have with people, connection with cultures, connection with the world, connection with all this potential and strength you hide inside yourself.
You will never be alone in AIESEC, there always will be people who will share your best and worst moments back to back. You will be surrounded by the most motivated and talented young people in the world, who will push you to do better and better, to achieve more and more, to fail and to win. Due to this organization you will feel that you are important part of the world. And it's in your hands to bring these changes you want to see in the world. Surely, this experience will test you to the full, challenge you, sometimes even exhaust, you will feel constant responsibility and commitment, but it will give you everything back. AIESEC is the best and quickest way for young people in the modern world to make dreams come true, learn to understand yourself and people around you and prepare for adult life. It's the best platform to try everything you have ever wanted, leaving your mark in people's lives. Year ago I couldn't imagine that it would me so hard for me to give in other hands all things that we have done together. Now I feel so privileged that I was the first to start this movement in Minsk and that I will have a successor who will make AIESEC in Minsk stronger and bring new ideas in it, continuing creating an impact on the world and what is more important, on our country and our youth. And I know that there is a person among you. And I truly believe that you will make it happen! Don't think that it's too early, you don't know enough, you don't know what and how to do, you don't have clear vision. Just have this inner feeling and your personal "WHY". Sometimes you don't know how it all will be like, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try. "You don't have to see the whole stairs, just take the first step in faith‌ "
My final wish is - please, love what you do and love people you work with. Because love - is the essence of the success and the thing that will cure all your weaknesses and failures.
Sincerely and AIESECly yours, first LCP of AIESEC in Minsk, Christina.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step...
