LA GALAXY AND GARDEN SCHOOL FOUNDATION PARTNER WITH LEAPWOOD AVE. ELEMENTARY Learning looks a bit different this year at a local Carson school. In addition to their usual math, science and history classes, young students at Leapwood Avenue Elementary School are now learning to grow their own organic food thanks to a groundbreaking partnership with the LA Galaxy and Garden School Foundation. Corn, kale, peppers, tomatoes, broccoli and raspberries are just a few of the fruits and vegetables that students will harvest this season. With a visiting instructor from the Garden School Foundation, the students now get their hands dirty while growing and taking care of the crops they’ve planted. This hands-on learning takes place in a

brand-new garden space at Leapwood completed by the LA Galaxy last year. In addition to the garden at school, the students will be invited to Dignity Health Sports Park, where they will participate in cooking classes and tour the stadium’s facilities and the Galaxy Garden, blending the lessons they’ve received in their own garden and classroom. LA Galaxy and LA Galaxy II are there to chip in for the cooking classes, where all are treated to an enriching experience that’s hard to find in any other elementary school lunchroom.

LA GALAXY HOME STADIUM RENAMED Dignity Health, one of the nation’s largest health care systems, has partnered with AEG and taken over the naming rights (formerly StubHub Center) of the home of the LA Galaxy. Dignity Health now has exclusive naming rights to the stadium and will be the official health care partner of the LA Galaxy. The partnership has been specifically designed to give back to Los Angeles communities, particularly those surrounding DHSP. Dignity Health will also work directly with the LA Galaxy Foundation, the charitable arm of the LA Galaxy. Through this partnership, they will host annual community events at DHSP in conjunction with Dignity Health’s Hello humankindness™ brand. This reflects Dignity Health’s commitment to meet the needs of every patient and family member who seeks care with respect, compassion and dignity. The LA Galaxy Foundation shares this belief, and spends countless hours giving back to the community at local schools, hospitals, sports fields, and events.
