We’re not all called to do the same thing, but we are all capable of doing something! James 1:27 describes how caring for the most vulnerable among us puts the heart of God on display with purity and clarity. Practically speaking, what does that look like? How can we all specifically participate in loving children from hard places and supporting the families caring for them? Here are some simple, unique and diverse ways* that a community of people can wrap around and tangibly serve foster and adoptive families – and in so doing participate in their calling and responsibility to care for kids by serving and supporting the families who have brought them into their homes. *Ideas below are representative, but not exhaustive

FIND YOUR SOMETHING. The opportunities to get involved are as unique and diverse as each individual person in our church. This is how the Body of Christ functions - as ears, eyes, hands, feet, toes, etc. (1 Corinthians 12). In other words, everyone has something to offer – whether it’s babysitting, a gift card, donating supplies or even giving a new forever family to a child. While we are not all called to do the same thing, we are all certainly capable of doing something. Perhaps the question we’re all now compelled to ask is no longer, “Am I called to do something?” but instead, “What’s my something? And how can I use that to care for children and families?”.
