Language is important. Words matter. They can help bring clarity where there was once confusion. Use these simple exercises to help you clarify your messaging and communication pieces about your ministry.
What’s Your “Why”? In one or two simple statements, articulate the theological motivation behind “why” people in your church can/should get involved in the lives of vulnerable children and families.
“Scripting” Your Ministry Write a 1-2 sentence statement that can act as the “script” of your ministry. (Think of it this way – someone not directly involved in this ministry gets on stage to explain what it’s all about to the whole church…what do you want them to say?)
Should vs. Can Identify some activities you would like your ministry to be involved in. As a team determine which ones are your “can” opportunities – those that you have the capacity right now to engage in most effectively. (Perhaps the others are opportunities for a future date, when you “can” engage more fully – but just not yet.)
