About me I am an architect graduated in December 2014, in the Faculty of Architecture of FIrenze, with a thesis, which was assembled prefabricated housing systems extensible cheap called MESH (Modular Extended Social Housing) getting top marks 110 full mark and honour. From an early age when I saw a new building or a restoration site I always thought would bring a renewal for the whole neighborhood and the community, a sort of “Door to the future.” In my journey of personal growth and employment , with a luggage delivery already built before and during the degree course. Since April 2003, I worked in a multinational company leader in the prefabricated building for tourism, for more than 4 years, with the task of the designer and collaborator purchasing department , where I really learned to work in teams to produce a maximum in the management of problems and goals , in the continuous search for new materials, solutions technical details, to improve the project as well as the product. Later, in 2008, I decided to attend the Faculty of Architecture , with the intention of forming further both practical and theoretical one that has been my passion since childhood, “ design “ . In fact, during this journey, to not remain estranged from theory , I have done many Internships (see CV ) . Meanwhile, my search for innovative technological solutions , in addition to projects and competitions outside the faculty , is continued in the ongoing dialogue of my blog, http://sinapsiarch.blogspot.it , which in just three years has received more than 15,000 visits and only in the month of July 1500 , all the countries of the world. Seeking to provide you with some also known character , I could describe myself as a pragmatic person , wise, affable, resolute, dynamic and curious , with a spirit of initiative and be used to working in a team and individually. Since childhood I have dreamed ; excited and intrigued , to do this job , I did travel to learn , encourage and learn about new cultures , so this new adventure for me would be a further opportunity for professional growth and maybe even for you.

The project proposal aims at the recovery of existing buildings and to its enhancement through the creation of a new center of attraction. it is a proposal that seeks to provide guests with the experience of the life of a center of a city or a country, relying on all hotel services, ie about accommodation, care, catering, spaces and services for guests , staying in houses and rooms that are no more than 200 meters from the “heart” of the widespread: the building in which are located the reception, common areas, the dining area. But the CEO is also a model of development of the territory which does not create environmental impact. To give life to a hotel Widespread in fact do not need to build anything, since it is limited to recover / restore and create a network that already exists. HD also serves as a “garrison social” and soul historic centers and stimulating initiatives involving local producers considered as a key component of the offer. An HD fact, thanks to the authenticity of the proposal, the proximity of the structures that compose it, and the presence of a community of residents is able to offer more than a living room, a style of life. Precisely for this reason an HD can not be born in abandoned villages. Within the project, a hotel has developed two projects the Auditorium * Freedom *, dual auditorium theater scene, which will become headquarters of the music festival that takes place annually instead will run right on the fortress dominating the whole valley. The other pole of attraction is the Museum of Memory * tool * to retrace the history of the country, especially the most recent one, linked to the painful events during the Second World War, riallaccia a bond with the land and the surrounding landscape, enhancing the historical artifacts found, an integral part of the local cultural heritage, complete with exhibition halls, recreational spaces and multifunctional . progetto comprende la riqualificazione di tutta la cittadina con la scelta di trasformarla in un“Albergo diffuso” aiutando la popolazione del luogo. The completion of the north face, which connects the two existing buildings is made with a frame structure, buffered in glass and coated sheets of oxidized copper sheet, produced by a local factory. Care was taken to raising the building stone facades, with the same metal cladding making recognizable the existing masonry. The openings on the north elevation are made with a steel frame extensions that are cashing in masonry, you will then upgrading the plaster and painting to her. The project then developed to the south-east with the new building, which differs from the existing one both in terms of architectural and compositional and the technological and constructive. In fact, while the two existing buildings have a mixed masonry structure, the new museum complex is characterized by elevations in glass and coatings of oxidized copper sheet, the typical brown-red. Among the existing building and the rooms of the museum is located atrium with a glass curtain wall and a cover are also made of glass. The shell, that window of the atrium and one continues the museum, have staggered layers, both with 5% slope with a ridge between the two buildings to allow the descent and the discharge of stormwater. The new structure is made of pillars HE and IPE beams of steel, properly sized and covered in sheet metal, and some of them contain the downpipes from the roof. The rear-end collisions, both internal and external are made with a prefabricated system of plasterboard and insulation material. Care was taken to obscuration of the facade facing south-east through a system of strips of sheet metal from the roof down to the ground and then become the plot of building envelopes craft services. The glass roof has a beam system carterizzate that allow you to create shading. The flap of the window is placed at a higher elevation than the continuous space between the two flaps, left free of closure but suitably protected, allows warm air to escape while maintaining an adequate temperature inside the atrium. 14 15

The project absolutely does not want to change the place, but rather to give a structure to the summer tourist events, parties and festivals, ensuring the large turnout for the BARGA JAZZ, village fete. We thought of an outdoor space “hybrid that could change depending on the use, paying particular attention to the interpretation of the initial project, the vision biscenica. Which affects the view of the tower and the surrounding mountains enhancing the beautiful setting The benches seem to emerge directly from the land they think of something that arises directly from the place, something ideal that helps to integrate better in the context

The basis of the project is based on the visualm on certain points attractor, because the biggest problem of the area is not usability The new visuals are designed to focus directly on the architectural emergencies present, Fabbrichone and Gualchiera and then to be able to clearly identify the various buildings. The buildings were placed according to their needs doing a survey with the citizens of the place and nothing personally that lacked a better connection with the nearby university and Hangouts for the teaching of music. Similarly the significant buildings , so the front of the historic Calami, theathers, and fulling mill, were released by the surrounding buildings obstructing them so that thwy can see and reach, compacting the buildings and therefore making the visual freer . The shape of the buildings starts from the idea to form a courtyard enhancing the internal ventilation and trying to minimize summer sun exposure , using of the apposite terraces with half closed closue brise soleil, while in winter can be used as winter garden

The project started on the perimeter delineated by lines connecting points of the attractors. The given volume opens onto the park with a large window and a semi-covered porch area that can be used as seeds for outdoor events. The outer material is the “transparent cement” that is able to filter the light inside to the outside and vice versa, creating an interior-exterior relationship even more special.
Inside we find a large foyer with a self-supporting ladder from the top, which leads to a huge covered terrace, which can be used as a bar-vip, with a panoramic valley of Florence Prato exciting. The hall can accommodate more than 300 people, including stalls and balcony, the seats have been designed with the concenzione to make greater visibility for each user with a search of the interior materials very comfortable and natural with particular attention to the acoustics, because the material choice is wood.

Today, these complex elements are of great interest as integrated into the city , in positions strategic and have a vast amount of public open space . Just the redevelopment of empty equipping with various activities, represents an attitude in the usual recovery of the identity of the suburbs . The redevelopment of the suburbs becomes a multidisciplinary element in which the open spaces lead to the redevelopment of the built environment , rethinking as strategic locations for the development of the city as a whole, “ new centrality “ able to deploy in a variety of peripheral tissue polarity association, which identify “the great public places “ of the contemporary city . Just look at examples of European countries in which the problem of the suburbs has been addressed in advance by identifying many interesting aspects , particularly in France, Spain and the Netherlands, where urban renewal has put at the center of the transformation space for collective use , resulting in every intervention high quality of the project as an engine of urban regeneration. In this project we have integrated retraining the green volume , in which the pedestrian path is the system by removing the connective junction carrying heavy traffic in the area at the expense of citizens, Obviously rehabilitating the area polluted thanks to the financial support received from the sale of housing typology of terraced together with the proceeds of the sports in project financing and for those of co housing in which we can use various formulas such as rent -controlled lease , lease purchase option . The other feature of this project are the central points and attractors to create a safe and continuous Place of interest , so as not to disperse the sense of urban space due to its size try to avoid the degrading effect due to the lack of use of the area and then lead us to the presence of the characteristic elements mportanti in eastern part of the social housing added to a system of co-working and across the market. resulting in a space so attractive ring which circumscribes the primary idea of the park, where the redevelopment is concentrated mainly suui services and sports equipment for adults and children with games and entertainment systems linked to the design of the park . At the core is the square park , we find the idea of the central monument junction fountain, and vocative and the representative nature of the rappriopriarsi than the city . The park is not just a surface but a volume , the share of terren rises , creating hills and small hillocks , which , in their internal functions are left to the district , buildings , car parks and activities , this links the emergency isolated the neighborhood, and recreates an urban setting surrounded by nature . retaking the idea of a small town, typical of the Tuscan country but reconnected with a network of public transport such as rail and tramway system navigation of the river.

The project involved a study of housing systems requirements for tourism. The structures are made of wood standing 5 cm thick insulated externally for various temperatures and sometimes with ventilated technology packages to overcome the torrid summer. So not a classic metal box, but a design solution ecological and livable even in the most extreme climates. The internal distribution is designed with a central block of services, referred to as CORE, surrounded by this inner box of wooden partitions, minimizing the distribution system There are three models in the line  PURE 1 - gable roof - 6x3 m (1 double room) - 8x3 m (2 double rooms)

The local government intends to manage the housing program in the near future, because every year the population of Medellin grows about 30,000 inhabitants due to an influx of people from the countryside to the cities. These people usually settle in self-built homes on the mountainside, because the cost of housing in the center is too high, expanding the boundaries of the city in an informal and uncontrolled hills adjacent creating a significant geological risk. The location chosen from the competition is in the neighborhood of La Candelaria in central Medellin, a city in Colombia. The area is among tspecifica Rio Medellin and “Parque Berrio” located in the historic downtown area, currently used mostly for commercial and public facilities (public organizations, office buildings, trade) generating movement during the day, but in complete abandonment evening. Colombia Street is one of the main avenues of the city and, thanks to the new restructuring plan that includes the whole area of the river, will become one of the main pedestrian streets cross Medellin, which unites him with the Parque Berrio., This results in a dysfunctional sector of the city, which lacks integration and social programs of housing construction. The competition aimed to regenerate the city through a new mix of low-cost building reformulating the adjacent public spaces in a way as to create a mix-residential commercial and recreational. This area currently has a total area of 5820mq, 3450mq of which corresponds to a surface parking, 1029mq of commercial establishments, 2942mq of office space, storage and 386mq 822m2 occupied by the church (which can not be changed, it eliminated). The volumes that have been demolished, according to the competition had to be part of the new project Summing up all these inputs in the master plan of the project I developed three areas - Spaces relational external open - Importance of spaces and services, typical of social housing - Houses cheap extensible (MESH’S Modular Extensible Social Housing SYSTEM) or can be added depending on the variability of the n of the users who occupy As regards the external relational open spaces have been organized into three subcategories public open space - inside park semi-public space rialzato- green upper terrace, a usable from the other condos from kindergarten. space distribuitivo connective To accomplish this, I tried to create a large atrium that would give the public importance of the open space 48 49
bring people to regain possession of the space by using them as points of connection, relaxation and fun, looking gods form a network that would link the two points attractors, the University Latin and Parque Berrio. The interrelationship between assets and the ability of space to accommodate them, is defined both quantitatively and qualitatively. I decided to transfer the shops on the ground floor to the south and to the side, thus creating a small shopping center (mini shopping center), while the first floor there are common structures, such as kindergartens, co-working spaces of the library and a large terrace semipublic , that is livable only from this district. The view on the outside loggia is an important aspect, especially, in the presence of a low surface area, allows to expand the space of the dwelling. This involves a focus when designing develops the theme of the neighborhood or the complex of buildings, the design of outdoor spaces overlooked by windows and balconies. For this project was chosen because it has the gallery set type of connective tissue, which ensures greater possibility of variation in the number and size of housing, provides more inputs according to a logical grid of possible housing modules, ensuring the highest degree of freedom . But above all gives more importance of the common areas, especially in buildings made by the cooperative and inhabitants, is crucial. Common areas also articulated and relatively complex functions are an important complement of the property. soon to guess how the public spaces acquire increasingly important with the decrease of the surface of housing. The construction system uitilizzato for this project is the same name in the competition, is called just MESH’S MODULAR EXTENDEND SOCIAL HOUSING SYSTEM dimensioned for allocamento module MESH, precisely calibrated over the features that deepen the design experimentation and innovation towards typological and technological choices constructive standardized. The design features the choices are: The building must be able to a quick assembly as well as undergo of accretions in subsequent times, sometimes with the addition of other housing modules, other times with individual elements that will complement the existing ones, extending the spaces with the system EXT extensible (with a sliding rail system properly designed) or modules with ADD (additional). So we thought of a skeleton structure or the host OS that has the task of supporting and allocate these housing systems. leaving the possibility of having these without affecting the interior space. The principle refers to the system of the bottle expressed in ‘Oeuvre complete by Le Corbusier in the’ Unité d’Habitation in Marseilles, where the frame is built first and then filled from the properties. Of course now this system is feasible. It is believed the use of a structure point type, which can be made with any technology and material (wood steel, prefabricated reinforced concrete), but with systems prefabricated assembly, where the pillars are placed in relation to a modular grid; Whose variable pitch is dictated by the needs of the modules and distribution. To allow subsequent interventions need to use construction technologies that allow easy implementation, which will be precisely to characterize the systems and components design and technology of the System Housing MESH’S where fundamental work by layer, distinguishing them physically, with the system to dry assembly. Where precisely the expectations of the cycle life of the elements different parts are easily replaceable, entailing working times lower (and therefore also the costs) and safer, but especially not affecting the functionality of the parts that remain. According to which the necessary performance is obtained by the juxtaposition and integration of layers or elements specific SKIN; This means offering over time the maximum comfort and adjustability of housing environment on varying needs during the period of useful life, both typological nature, both construction and plant engineering. In quantol concept refers to a prefabricated module transportable extensible, called MESH, the acronym 50 51
convertible assembled, produced with an industrialized system, called OFC, which stands for Off Site specialism, widely used in the countries of Northern Europe and North America. This system of construction refers to structures built in a location other than the place of use, taking place in a production facility specifically for this type of process where you build 85% of the artifact. The individual modules are then transported to the building site, on trailers and allocated them in institutions where they come then finished. The advanced production methods, used for three-dimensional cells, they allow customization according to user needs. The living module is divided into three types coupled and aggregated, to try to meet the higher demand housing possible, by distinguishing between a proportional relationship user / size. HOUSING UNITS The housing will have to be divided into three types of units depending on the size: A. units 10 units x 30m2 300m2 Unit B. 30 units x 60m2 1800m2 C. Unit 10 units x 90m2 900m2

TYPE: PROJECT SIZE: 650 SMQ LOCATION : MILAN -ITALY STATUS: COMPETION TEAM : CHRISTIAN GIANI link: http://christiangianiark.weebly.com/kindergarten--to-sweet-swing-istant-school-2013.html This project was born with the desire to create a bridge between PARENTS - SCHOOL - CHILDREN as pedagogical manifesto . New choices of economic policy and the new model of national development has led me to think of the school as a tool to give quality to life. Through a mental journey that makes the child when he joined the company, because the nursery does not become a big separation from the family . Designing a nursery is to create a space where the architectural material is compared with the educational aspect of the child creating a strong interpersonal bond in order to encourage them to come inside. I wanted to create protected environments and environments suitable for the report so that the emotions that transpire are not lost and detachment. For a proper understanding and framing of asylum for a choir I decided to mention schematically the essential moments of the project: - First of all, welcome to the study of classroom circular shape was created as a sort of filter space that wants to mitigate the temporary posting that the child might feel towards their parents , in the first meeting with the teacher or to other children. This room is furnished with stimulating material the game but also in function of the relationship between adults. - The classroom workshop is a room with multiple functions very broad area where the child should feel free to express themselves where it twists the game , teaching the food and the show . Room fitted with simple furnishings such as to use them in a continuous and flexible. The room is adjacent to teachers so that the child does not feel the presence of the adult but vigilance is maintained . - Between the kitchen and the classroom teacher is a dressing area complete with bathroom adjacent to the room cleaners are the technical area complete with boilers and heat exchanger. The school is divided concentrically with a cloister area where the child feels open and protected at the same time where he can go back to touch up and develop on the outside but very close to the laboratory. Along a short corridor covered glazed door to individual classrooms where inside is re-created an environment similar to the classroom , laboratory peculiarity lies in the fact that there is an adjacent area where your child can snuggle up and relax the exclusive services . The classroom is very flexible with a wide glass on both sides to allow ventilation inside DESIGN : I’ve tried to find a scenario of possible building systems taking as main concept the ecology of the built environment . The themes developed in the project compared to traditional solutions , have been linked to the study and analysis of sunshine flanked by energy efficiency values , making building a high ecological quality . The tight integration between technology and architecture of the building systems with wood panels bearing X- LAM can reduce production time by up to 60 % , where the time is only related to the necessary cures then also in terms of the image will be debunked the myth interminability public yards . T The total energy required of the materials used for this project is significantly lower than traditional materials . In the study I favored the use of wood in various forms and applications for structure and finish . The structure will consist of foundations, platform / Plate reinforced concrete level , the pillars of reinforced concrete solution necessary to ensure the stability of the building . On the pe-

in addition to a better landscape insertion of the structure . The extensive green system is a low maintenance , the woods used are able to survive in extreme drought , has high adaptability to local climatic conditions and a high capacity for regeneration and self propagation . Have been recognized on a scientific basis , great variation in microclimate ( temperature , humidity, wind ) , air purification, noise attenuation , antiseptic , biodiversity conservation and psychological function . Inside the system allows the application of drywall panels (type plasterboard or other surface ) allowing the passage of all the installations in the interspace between the panel wall and against - wall , without the need for expensive assistances . It ‘ a constructive solution that , in addition to reducing the economic impact of the works , it allows future flexibility in updating systems and automatically ensures a good level of sound insulation. In addition, this solution allows for the possibility of applying to these panels , where there is the greatest need and in place of the simple plasterboard, sound-absorbing , to dramatically reduce acoustic reverberation typical of traditional architecture and that, in school buildings is particularly marked . With this type of panels has been possible to think of an expansion much more flexible and faster with the addition of two small classrooms The PLANTS The building was design to ensure very high levels of energy efficiency . Through the optimization of the thermal performance of the elements of the housing to reduce heat loss to the outside in the winter and in the summer heat of reentry . Transparent enclosures have been designed to prevent overheating of the environments due to irradiation. Winter heating is through the solar collectors ( 150 square meters in size ) through the inside with a floor heating system with radiant panels in low temperature adjustment system for each environment . Always maintaining an energy-saving air exchange through a treatment unit will be located in the technical room . Also in the cover were placed solar panels for about 180 square meters (equal to 27 kw) Sizing far higher than necessary electricity needs . The hot water will be produced through a special heat exchanger in the boiler room and with the help of solar panels placed on the roof forever . In this study design has been maximized winter sunshine with the help of natural lighting and curtain systems that ensure the maximum winter sunshine . In the exterior of the building are prominent elements of the large windows , where the windows are expected to cut aluminum . Of course, the glazing systems will have to answer to the best characteristics with regard to protection from direct , factor and solar thermal insulation. The external paving , patios within the school , are made of wood (staves sealed ) and natural materials ( sand , grass) for the portions in the garden. For the interior it is expected the use of hot materials , such as wood (eg. for industrial parquet floor ) , paving “soft” for certain areas of the sections and also for the coating of wood part of the walls ( also in combination with sound-absorbing panels ) . For ceilings are provided for wood and alternative materials such as the “ Celenit “ colored , to the best characteristics of sound- absorbent CONTROL OF VENTILATION Since an adequate supply of replacement air must be guaranteed for the sake of a healthy environment ( a value minimum is however required by law ) , in order to obtain buildings with very high energy efficiency , the only solution is to install systems of controlled mechanical ventilation , able to provide the necessary air exchange simultaneously recovering a part of the heat expelled . The ventilation system controlled is also useful not only in winter but also in summer : in fact, through the open windows , the warm air enters the building often causing overheating of the rooms. In such conditions , the ventilation system can introduce air inside the casing at a temperature considerably lower than the outside , taking , for example , from the north side of the building from the crawl space under the floor slab or by a heat exchanger heat basement.

Rubner Pavilion Bolzano ITALY
TYPE: PROJECT SIZE: 150 SMQ LOCATION : MILAN -ITALY STATUS: COMPETION TEAM : CHRISTIAN GIANI link: http://christiangianiark.weebly.com/rubners-pavillon-2011.html the idea consists in rethinking the housE as a place that satisfiesthe well-being and the living comfort considering. First of all , the respect for the environment CONFORT +ENVIRONMENTAL RESPECT= ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH What leads us to this “EINVIOrNMENTAL WELL-BEING “ is the wooden building , that is suitable both for the user and the environment of every functional receptive type, such as /like house , school, shopping mall, hotel and so on (etc) The achievement of the project can even be funny and constructive. The project is like a journey and must have a destination. Its purpose consists in transmitting to any user (customer, designer, entrepreneur) the opportunity to take a way in search of a better attitude m in order to rediscover the respect for the environment and to investigate and set free, at the same time , an ecological way of building and living. The planning of this project wants to comunicate that it’s possible to take an innovative way in the building trade. In particular , this project express 4 characteristics based on this kind of well-being, which are adapted to the human life’s standards. 1 NATURAL VENTILATION is the central system of this house. We are going to use the stairwell as a conduit in order to creat a chimney effect, that canalizes the hot aria in summer and lets it drain out through the skylight in the roof. On the other hand, in winter the air is treated witha pump and a geothermal heat ex changer and used to satisfy the thermal comfort. 2 DOMOTIC An Integrated useful and versatile home automation is able to offer intelligent solutions in terms of comfort, safety, energy and environmental commun atmosphere for ication and control. At the same time, you always have a possibility to modify the system afterwards, according to the needs that may occur during the time . Home automation simplies and improves the quality of domestic life, helping the creation of the perfect atmosphere for every time of the day. It also controls the temperature , the irrigation and the activation of other automation systems. It’s necessary only to press a button to activate a scenario”, so that you can find the right atmosphere of light, heat and comfort, thanks to the help of some images on a Led Screen at the wall. 3 SUN ENERGY 4 RAINWATER SYSTEMS WITH STORAGE & USE

type: Architectural RELIEF & CONSERVATION size: -location: POPOLO’S PLACE - CASTELFIORENTINO - FLORENCE - ITALY status : RELIEF & ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATION PROJECT TEAM: BARTOLOMEO FAVALORO,FABRIZIO MARINELLI, ICIAR DAZA CASTELLO,FRANCISCO BAUTISTA , CHRISTIAN GIANI link: http://christiangianiark.weebly.com/san-lorenzo-church---castelfiorentino-fi-2011.html The Collegiate Church of St Laurence and Leonardo is in Castelfiorentino, in the province of Florence, in the diocese of the same city: overlooking the central square of the town, called Piazza del Popolo to the Middle Ages. The building of the collegiate church, originally dedicated only to St. Leonard, is probably one of the oldest buildings made cooked in the Elsa Valley but there is no news of it prior to 1219 as a result there have been many additions and reconstructions The church has a single nave with adjoining dome, is built in bricks with clear stylistic elements that refer to the Romanesque-Lombard influences Pisa. The nave has been reported, with the last renovation, the original class features of the Romanesque period; divesting the time built in the Baroque altars and quell’enormi and many of which now we see only traces in the apparatus wall. The typical gabled roof, recalls the simple structure typical Tuscan wooden trusses with double wooden warping underlying asset at a system terracotta tiles and roof tiles. Project Our restoration project aims at the preservation of the building trying to improve as much as possible its current configuration dating back to last restoration in the early ‘900. The actions proposed intends to solve the problems dictated by the presence of strong rising damp along the perimeter of the church creating serious problems of environmental quality on the inside. The philosophy that has guided the project is intended to obtain the complete reversibility at any time. These proposed measures include the construction of a concrete slab (which acts as a sidewalk) counterslope from the road in order to drain the water to the municipal sewage system that is located downstream of the church. The second project concerns the improvement of accessibility through a steel ramp and wood for disabled people allows access from the side entrance on the north elevation west. In the line of a conservative has designed a work of adaptation for wheelchair access. The realization of the ramp is to be understood as a work provisional and not determinant on architecture.

In detail we have carried out the reconstruction of the facade design and back-side. First approach to relief is aimed at understanding the whole work from the point of view of bibliographic, going back even to the history and historical changes related to the same buildings for learning summary of the historical and cultural context, and sensory for a first dimensional analysis and formal architecture, a crucial step for the subsequent choice of the techniques of relief to operate. We have collected the information through the creation of sketches of the planimetric the church and in detail, sketches and photographs. The survey took place in a direct, indirect and photogrammetric with a production of drafting and post-production computer.
