RECYCLE REVOLUTION Currently, China is facing huge demands and reforms regarding the improvement of air quality due to pollution. Xiong’an has become an area where citizens are fleeting to have access to breathable air. A self-sustaining building contributes to a healthy environment, while physical activity and exercise contribute to a healthy population. By combining these two reciprocals, a sneaker/active footwear production, manufacturing, sales, and testing center is the program pertaining to Recycle Revolution.

URBAN SCENES The city of Medellin has undergone a series of changes and improvements to infrastructures and areas of urban intensity to promote the use of public space throughout the city. Tapping into this trend, Urban Scenes aims to play a part in this larger narrative. After determining a site, the development strategy came from taking cues from the existing and lacking programs, topography, and formation of natural green space and its interaction with the urban blocks and paths. The goal of Urban Scenes is to weave the green space and existing blocks into a ribbon of programs resulting in a single entity meant for the community, reiforce an axis via lines of surface treatment throughout the neighborhood, and to bring elements of public space and facilities found in the city center into a less formal environment.

URBAN SEAMS Urban Seams looks to develop a design strategy regarding connectivity and networking. Given the site, Chester Terrace of London, the housing complex is a divided landscape between that of Regents Park and the urban fabric of the neighborhood currently separated by the structure. The aim of this project is to present a new formal language between the expansion of Chester Terrace into a University and the dynamism it presents on site. Chester Terrace will work to allow both the neighborhood behind to engage with the site of the University and continue through to the landscape of Regents Park.

A NEW YORK STATE OF MIND:
THE OBSERVATION
Using two analyses of randomly selected objects gathered at the New York State Fair (candy apple and wheelbarrow) the aim was to create a drawing that displays a system in which these two objects relate to each other and to their roles at the New York State Fair. Additionally a site analysis of an area of the Fairgrounds was produced. By exploring binaries the aim was to incorporate ways to invert these objects into functional uses within the context of the site. The drawing combines systems used for candy apple production and wheelbarrow use at the fair in a fantasy like tower.

A NEW YORK STATE OF MIND:
THE DELAMINATION
Through prior investigations of the gateway of the New York State Fairgrounds, it was seen as an obstacle. Fuzziness, interlacing, and layering within a space do not cause for easy passage, which goes against the function of a direct enter and exit strategy of a gateway. However, in the context of the fairgrounds, distractions play a large part in the fantasy and playfulness of the attraction. This gateway moves through layers of trees, large built walls, partially grown and built walls, and programmatic interior clarification with illumination that reflects the surrounding organic forms.
