Christine Cox
Christine comes from a small industrial city in southern Appalachia (pronounced "Apple-Latch-uh"), Kingsport Tennessee. Following the completion of the doctoral program in Sociology at Duke University Christine spent the next 14 years conducting research at the University of North Carolina, in maternal and child health, family violence, child abuse and neglect and adolescent development; focusing on the role of supportive adults in making a difference for children and teens who experienced adversity. Christine volunteered as an advocate for battered women for the local Family Violence Prevention Center and served on the board and as a volunteer for the Durham Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center. She completed the entire Landmark Curriculum for Living: The Landmark Forum, The Advanced Course and the Self-Expression and Leadership Program; a number of seminar series, and has served in the assisting program.
