The theme of this project refers to the proposal to include a thermal spa’s building in the landscape of Kyllini. The integration of the building, the configuration of the local area as well as the protection of the natural resources, are the highlights of this project. The purpose is to serve both the practical needs of swimmers and the exterior space by respecting the environment which hosts the project.
The project is embedded in a thermal landscape, where the main planting is the eucalyptus and it is separated into three levels. The cafeteria and the restaurant are placed in the first level. A linear building that includes the information department, the administration, and the auxiliary space which attends the needs of the spa are proposed for the second level. A cave house building, where all the thermal processes take place is placed on the third level. Finally a wooden ramp connects the three levels and the Roman bath all together resulting in a forecourt.
