Design: Hill Holt Wood (Nov 2016 – Dec 2017) Architectural Ranger (Part I Placement)

NETTA/TRADA Prize for Innovation with Timber 2nd Place for my BA3 Byker Wall Project

Worked as part of the Design Team at HHW, a charity and social enterprise based in Lincolnshire. Living on site and off grid in the woodlands for 13 months. I managed numerous small-scale projects from RIBA Stages 0-7, as well as running educational workshops. Projects were designed with high levels of sustainability often been constructed from locally sourced timber, hemp, and straw bales.

HelloWood Participant (July 2019)

Employed as a labourer in London to aid in the construction of domestic projects including loft conversions and rear extensions during my term breaks and summer holidays at University. Here I learnt a significant amount on technical detailing and how buildings are actually constructed on site.

Participated in a week long collaborative construction festival in Hungary with architects and artists from around the world. The works were featured in Archdaily

POOSH (Peoples Organisation on Sustainable Housing) Volunteer worker for different sustainable build projects, mainly two weeks working on a hempcrete housing build. Constructing a secondary school/ hostel accommodation as well as teaching English, Maths and Sciences to children aged 6 – 18 in Manvi, India. Returned following years as a Group Leader.
