AS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE VILLA NM, THIS ASSIGNMENT WAS TO USE SURFACE GEOMETRY AND MODELING TECHNIQUES TO DESIGN AND PRODUCE A PAVILION THAT WOULD BE AN ART GALLERY AND HOLD EXHIBITIONS FOR ART PIECES. ANOTHER GUIDELINE FOR THE PROJECT WAS FOR THE DESIGN TO USE TOPOLOGICAL SPACES AND HOLD SPATIAL PROGRAM. PRIOR TO THIS PROJECT, STUDENTS HAVE USED INSPIRATION FROM OTHER SOURCES LIKE SITE INFLUENCE, ABSTRACT RELATIONSHIPS, AND EXTERNAL REFERENCES FOR THEIR DESIGN. BY CREATING A TILE AND USING TRANSFORMATIVE ACTIONS LIKE COPYING, MIRRORING, AND SMALL SCALE CHANGES, THIS COMPLEX FORM EMERGED.
