W e l c om e . . .
On behalf of Ryan Went and Went Blacks, I am pleased to welcome you to their annual production sale. The sale will be held, for the first time, in Dunlap, Iowa. The Went program is one of the most respected in the country. This outfit has long been known, not only for power club calf producing females, but they were always recognized as one of the pioneers in the club calf female market. Ryan knows the value of a good female and he knows better than anyone how to make them produce. The most important thing to realize about this offering is that they have turned loose of several three and four year old cows, in an effort to make this a new and exciting event. Many of the cows and donor prospects selling were mated to maternal bred sires, with the intention, not to sell them, but to keep them and raise replacements, prior to entering them into a flush program. You are buying into the heart of one of the most dominant herds in the country. This is a family owned and operated business. Ryan and Judd and Ryan's father Ron, along with son in law Wes Wetovick are all instrumental in the daily operation. Few people work at this business with as much dilligence and passion for what they do, and few do it as well. I am certainly pleased to represent not on the cattle but the family. You will find that few people are as good to do business with as Ryan and Jan Went. Make plans to join us on Sunday, February 8th at 1:30 p.m. Dinner will be served prior to sale time. If you are unable to attend, you can view the offering anytime prior to the sale, either at the ranch. The sale will be broadcast on Superior through Rural TV on Dish Network Channel 232. You can register for absentee bidding at 1-800-431-4452. The sale will be broadcast until 1:30 p.m. on channel 232 and you will be able to bid on the remaining cattle on Superiors online bidding service. Once again, we appreciate your interest and your time. Please call Ryan, Judd, or myself with questions pertaining the sale or the cattle. We will be glad to help you.

AI: Walk This Way (Walks Alone x Habanero) 5-22 • The Went program for many years has been one of the most respected in the country. They were pioneers in the club calf business and helped the industry make great strides. The females at Wents are some of the most powerful in the country. They are big hipped, long fronted and extra stout. He has maintained the best bloodlines and most successful genetics. • The female that leads off this offering is exceptional and will be one of the best Irish Whiskey daughters to sell anywhere in the country this season. She is a young five year old and has a good production record. Two exceptional daughters have been retained in the herd and she produced a $9000 Smoke and Mirrors steer last year. • You know the value of Whiskey females, her mating to Walk This Way could pay big dividends.

troubadour (Lead On) Sunseeker
AI: Jesse James (Total Solution) 6-2 • Troubadour, with so little semen, made a large impact on the club calf business. He has sired major champions and daughters that have produced major show winners. Troubadour was still sound and running with cows in the spring of 2014 and got stifled. He is now deceased. His semen is rare and commanding up to $300 per unit. • Daughters of Troubadour, like Lots 5A and 5B, have been some of the most consistent producing club calf dams in the country. These two females are different than most, being out of a Sun Seeker and not a Heat Wave daughter, a place where Troubadour really works. So, their mating to Heat Wave or Monopoly is a sure thing! • Lot 5A is extra stout, hairy and really sound. These two daughters of Troubadour, if sold next spring, could be sale toppers anywhere in the south. They are that good! You will travel a long way to find a pair of Troubadour females with this much future and potential! Tie hard here - big time future donors!

She is super long necked and big backed and rolls this into a sound package with a great deal of style and profile. “3072” should really come on by sale time. She will work great to many of the compact, shorter bodied club calf sires. This one has donor potential and should prove to be a great producer. Hard to find ones made like this heifer.

The Heat Wave females have proven themselves as consistent producers of major champions and high sellers. • A sib steer to this lot sold to Bob May for $17,500 and was a many time champion for the Alexander family. Another flush mate was sold to Mark Copus for $20,000. There is a good deal of quality and proven results out of this cow family. Imagine the results that this heifer could produce when flushed to leading Charolais sires. Her mating to I-80 will be one to anticipate this spring. • We really like this big bodied, useful heifer.
