Beatrice Hug was born in Singen and completed her studies of painting, photography and illustration with a diploma at the Fachhochschule in Aachen in 1985. Until 1991, she then worked as an editor for the fashion magazines Vogue Germany and Elle. Between 1992 and 2005 she was a freelance art director in the field of conceptualization and realization of photo productions for fashion magazines around the world. Her works have been exhibited in a number of solo and group exhibitions in France, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. A few years after studying painting and photography in Aachen, she made Paris her new home. She still lives as a freelance artist in the French capital.
