Hi Chargers! Welcome back to school! I hope that even with summer break ending and school picking back up, you can find some solace in Key Club! I wanted to thank everyone who donated to the Dare to Care fundraiser since it was really entertaining to watch our DLT, especially the ones from Clark, complete the dares. (I personally donated to watch Snow wash her hair with mayonnaise.) It was also really fun to have the social with Spring Valley Key Club! Spring Valley may be one of our biggest competitors in division events, but they’re an amazing club with amazing members. Remember to stay safe and take care of yourselves, especially with school starting to get serious. Don’t forget to wear a mask when you go outside!!

Sincerely,

Emilee Chang 3

What’s up, Chargers! Welcome back to the school year and I hope you all had an amazing summer break. With school starting, I hope things settle for all of us as we adjust to virtual learning and virtual clubs. I know we’re all disappointed at how this year is going, but we should make the best of it and stay strong! Even with things being virtual, the board and I still want to have events and socials for everyone, which is why we had the Movie Night social with Spring Valley! Although obviously things would’ve been cooler if we had a social in person, I hope that we all recognize the need for things to be virtual and to take things like cool kids and make the best of a somewhat bad situation. With that, I hope we all have an amazing start to the school year and an amazing start to Key Club this term!

Sincerely,

Bethany Antero 4

On August 14th, Clark Key Club and Spring Valley Key Club held an interclub social, and collaborated on a service project. We created paper cranes and filled them with encouraging messages. These are to be donated to a hospital at a later date. We also streamed Princess and the Frog at the same time! It was a nice experience to have members from both clubs collaborate on a project as opposed to competing for once!

In the superhero themed August DCM, the division covered the Summer Leadership Conference and revealed the brand new division graphics team! Our very own Selina Ye was selected as the graphic designer, along with Alyana Arciaga from Southwest CTA. We also learned more details about Region Training Conference, which is suppose to be held on October 24th from 10AM to 2PM. We also learned more about Kiwanis from the division’s Kiwanis Family Relations Coordinator.

The division held a “Dare to Care” fundraiser throughout the month of August! Members all throughout the division were encouraged to donate money to the Innocence Project and nominate one of the DLT or our LTG to do a dare. These dares were performed at the DCM. Special thank you’s to LYVP Kiwanis Club for making the fundraiser possible
