Hello, Chargers! Welcome back to this special edition Halloween-themed newsletter! This month was especially busy what with all our spirit and theme weeks on top of Region Training Conference! Although I’m sure we were all pretty sad that RTC was virtual, I can say for sure that it was still just as amazing as an in-person RTC. This time I definitely went out of my comfort zone and tried to reach out to people, which is pretty hard since everything’s online, but I personally loved how everything went down. I’m especially proud of our division for going above and beyond to rise up and participate. While this year’s RTC had its ups and down, I’m pretty satisfied with how everything happened and I hope that the post=RTC seasonal depression goes easy this year :)!

Sincerely,

Emilee Chang 3

Hey Key Clubbers! Happy Halloween >:D this month was super exciting as we had our first virtual Regional Training Conference. Although it was pretty sad not to have our in person events like usual, there were still so many people and it was awesome to see everyone. The October DCM was also really cool since our very own Feliza (aka the LTG!) cut her hair for charity. And we finally had our class rep elections so now we have five new people to call Clark Key Club board members. Even with October passing, I hope we all stay to the Key Club grind as we have some pretty exciting events coming up on the next month. Bethoutany! Sincerely,

Bethany Antero 4

The October DCM was held on October 13th from 5PM to 6PM. During the DCM we went over old business and new opportunities from the region. We also learned more details in preparation for RTC. At this DCM, some of our DLT presented a workshop on mental health and how to overall better yourself, especially during quarantine. At the very end, Feliza cut her hair in honor of the monthly fundraiser.

Thank you to

Chelsea Acdan for donating $200!

The October DCM was a great experience for me to see what volunteer events other clubs in the division have been participating in! Seeing that over $200 was donated for PTP was a surprise to me, and I thought that Feliza looked so cute with her short hair! I also thought the presentation was well-organized and included cute graphics. :) - Jennifer Ly

RTC was my first look at different key clubs in our district; even though it was online, it was interactive and informative. I wish the activities period went on for longer, as it was the best part of RTC for me. My favorite activity was making plarn, and my favorite meet was the Kiwanis family. It was great seeing all the different people at RTC, and interacting with one another. -Kelly Ru

Like most of us, I was very sad to hear that we would not have a 'normal' RTC this year; despite the circumstances, our LTGs never failed to make their divisions happy! They all did such a great job, and all of their hard work paid off. The speakers in every workshop I attended were well prepared for any question thrown at them, and the other key clubbers in the meeting made sure everyone was included and involved. I'm so proud of all the divisions for being able to push through these tough times!! -Angelique Tanaquin

This year’s RTC theme was very cute, and I loved that Clark chose Isabelle! I also thought that this year’s RTC was very organized given the current situation. Because I was emailed all the workshops, it was pretty easy to navigate through the event. However, I felt like this year’s RTC made it difficult to make new friends. Despite that, I enjoyed listening to all the guest speakers and attending their workshops! Some of my favorite ones included the plarn-making event and the fundraising ideas event. -Jennifer Ly

Mario Ka-RTC 2020 was a very different experience, but was very fun nonetheless. Even with COVID-19, different schools from different divisions still got to interact with each other, which I personally found very fun and cool. I enjoyed the workshops, and I think that it went pretty smoothly, considering it was the first time we had it online. Overall, RTC this year was very engaging while staying safe, which in general helped me to have a good time. -Hannah Kim
