Hi there Clark Key Clubbers! I’m back with the second edition of our newsletter. As the school year comes to an end and summer vacation kicks in, let’s just take the time to sit back and relax. This past year has been an amazing ride and with the spring banquet, it all comes to an end. It was a blast hearing the old board talk one more time and seeing your reactions to distinctions and superlatives. I am grateful to be an officer and to continue the legacy left by the old board. While it wasn’t the ideal end, it all came together and I couldn’t have asked for more. All in all, this year was an unforgettable one. I will serve to the best of my ability and go beyond to continue the legacy. While I’m so excited for our next service project, please don’t forget to stay safe and take the proper precautions when going out, if at all :( I miss you all so much, take care!
Sincerely,
Emilee Chang 3
Hello Clark Key Club! This month finally marks our start of summer vacation. Hope you all did well on your AP exams! Thank you to everyone who attended our Disney banquet and special thanks for our special guests! We have more service projects than what we offered in our powerpoint so be on the lookout on our social media for that. Summer is pretty uneventful when it comes to Key Club, but since we don’t have to meet up physically, it’s possible for us to meet up virtually! I am a little disappointed that we won’t be able to have our annual summer social, but it’s fun to change it up a bit! Other than that, DCM’s are easier to attend than ever. I highly recommend going to them, but there will not be a July DCM. A reminder to drink water and also if you’re going out, make sure to wear a mask and wear sunblock :). Remember to keep serving and washing your hands! Don’t hesitate to contact me or another officer for any questions :D.
Sincerely,

The spring banquet was bittersweet. It was sad to see the old board leave and not get to say goodbye properly in person. However, I’m excited for this year’s board and what they have in store! Also, Haylie asked me to send a video of myself saying “Happy Birthday” to Ms. Wong. It was for a big compilation video for Ms. Wong’s birthday and it was played during the banquet. I didn’t know it was going to be played so I screamed when I saw it and my mom told me to be quiet. But it was a fun banquet and I’m excited for our next event!
The spring banquet was fun even though it was virtual. We had special guests come like some of the kiwanis and even our own principal. There were superlatives for a majority of the members and we talked about what our club has accomplished this year. The old board came to surprise us and said their farewells and their favorite memories in Key Club. At the end of the banquet, the president announced our RTC character!

While a virtual banquet can never compare to one in real life, I’d say this one came close. Past the standard banquet stuff going on (awards, speeches, etc. etc.), I just really enjoyed reminiscing about the year with everyone else. Even with the term cut short, hearing everyone talk about events and superlatives made me realize that nearly a year has passed, and as my sophomore year comes to a close, I can genuinely say I will miss the old board and the graduating seniors that I’ve come to love and respect. And it also made me realize that I have a whole new year ahead of me, with many of my friends on the board. This spring banquet, although bittersweet, was a close to an wonderful year- and hopefully, it’ll be an opening to a year just as amazing as the last.
I really enjoyed the spring banquet. It had some rough moments but for the most part it was smooth sailing. It was really fun to see the old board and wish them farewell, but I wish it was in person. To help with that though, Snow made a Senior Appreciation slide! Everyone wrote notes to the class of 2020 and to each of the members on the previous board. Besides the seniors, we had funny superlatives given and our RTC character was announced. The board made a video for Ms. Wong because her birthday had passed. Overall, this event truly felt like the 2020-2021 term had started and I can only wait for the new school year.
