Enescu” Bucharest Philharmonic, Athens and Thessaloniki State Orchestras, Moscow Soloists at the Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, “Tchaikovsky” Moscow Conservatoire, Tonhalle-Zurich, Vienna Konzerthaus, Athens Megaron Concert Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, and Herod Atticus ancient Theatre (Athens-Acropolis). He works with Yuri Bashmet, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Teodor Currentzis, Michael Nyman, Yuri Simonov, Günter Neuhold. He has been awarded with the Honorary Doctor of Musical Arts from the IAACC/UNESCO. In 2012 the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences & Arts and the United Nations, unanimously elected him as Honorary Member of the Academy and in 12/2016 he received the Artists of the Year by the Gina Bachauer Awards. He was twice nominated for the New York Grammy Awards. Works have been dedicated to him by Iannis Xenakis, Mikis Theodorakis and Friedrich Cerha.
He studied at the Athens Conservatoire (Babis Farantatos’ class) and with Daniel Deffayet and Jean-Marie Londeix in France. For 20 years he was the senior Professor at the Athens State Conservatory. From 2000 to 2010 he was the founder and the general director of the Saxophone Orchestra of the Piraeus Prefecture under the auspices of Greek Ministry of Culture. His discography has won many prestigious awards. With the pianist Francesco Nicolosi have been collaborating since 2005. He plays with the “Kerkezos” saxophone model by “H. Selmer-Paris” special custom made for him.
