Railway Station Main Building
Design Strategy Since the demeanor of the train station is modest, it exudes the feeling of warm and cosy atmosphere. This characteristic of the space could be accentuated by providing lighting that would relate to intimate and secure ambience. The design would also, majorly re ect the functional requirements of the space.
Railway Station (Interior)
09
Entrance The entrance vestibule, a small space warmly lit up by pendant lights would create a cosy atmosphere, the perceived space will be more welcoming and warm. The illuminated ceiling would provide the indirect component for general lighting.
Transition Area The transition passageway, first place as one steps out of the platform would be designed in a humble and yet impressionable manner. The low level uplights would act as guiding light leading the traveler to the hall and exit of the station. Furnished with benches, this place could be used for halting and orienting. The lighting in this area would have some comfortable contrasts.
10
Railway Station (Exterior)
Platform It would be appropriate to provide evenly lit general lighting. The safety concern of the visible distinction of the platform edge can be addressed by appropriate lighting. The pitched roof of the platform would be illuminated through wall mounted luminaires which would also act as indirect component of the area’s lighting. The pendent luminaire would contribute to direct lighting.
11
Facade As the entrance of the station is unassuming and humble, it would be appropriate to illuminate it with a relatable proportion. The exposed brick work, its texture and gradient is accentuated by wall grazing. The offset in the elevation of the entrance area could be highlighted with varying illuminance level.
Forecourt Forecourt is the interconnection between the train station and the city for the commuters. It also could be developed into a gathering, meeting place, where one can receive people. The design strategy is to develop an ambience appropriate to these functions. It would include ambient lighting and pleasing light patterns.
12
Surrounding Area
Roads The main thoroughfare connecting train station to different parts of the city is of absolute importance, The lighting strategy for this zone would be more inclined towards the functional aspects like maintaining safety, visual clarity and distinguishable hierarchy.
Intersection Intersection is a mian point of stresst lighting design . in creasing the brightness to distinguish from 13 normal roads.
Pedestrian the primary criteria is to provide evenly lit not just the pathways but the immediate surrounding, for informed vision.
Garden The water creek highlighted as an important part of the garden,The pathway when illuminated would become a safe access way for commuters. For the people visiting garden it would function as direction guide.
14
Underpass The relatively small length underpass is part of the arteries. The aim is to make the underpass identi able by the vehicles approaching and yet keep the lighting harmonious with the surrounding so as to not create any visual discomfort. The pathway and cycling path lighting approaching the underpass would be able to aid in the distinction. The retaining walls and the ceiling of underpass can be used as surface for indirect lighting component.
15
Linear wallwashing along the underpass, furthermore the wallwashing for the ceiling increase the brightness of the area under the bridge.
Linear lighting situation with two different tempurapures to distinguish the bike tracks, pedestrain from car road.

This is a one-week workshop project for Kronach Leuchtet in Kronach, Bavaria in Germany. The location of our project is at "Am Pfรถrtchen" which is a narrow passage from lower to upper town. Our concept is "Heart of the Mystery" which we concentrate on the focal point of the transition between different spaces towards an unknown, magical atmosphere. Starts with attracting people by leading them from the real to surreal world which is the heart of the mystery. Nature is the source of inspiration for our lighting installation. The play of shadows and contrast create a dreamy feeling. Diverse colours enhance to change the mood and the ambiance. The red gate represents the end and beginning of an unreal adventure.

This is a five-day workshop held in Neuruppin. The location is at a sport filed, which surrounded by many fences. Our main concept is "Create", which the purpose we were looking forward to have some interactions with visitors. Our idea is to use plastic cups to install them on the fences in order to create "beats" and "rhythm", with LED flood light and color filters by uplighting to project the lights on the cups, since it is the dark night, the cups would look like floating in the air. In order to be more interactive, we put more cups on the ground so the visitors can use those cups and imagination to create their own shapes.
22
Beats & Rhythm With two side of fences, we use different light colors and different shapes , which represent “Beats” and “Rhythm.” In addition to increase the atmosphere of upbeat, we use gobo and linear lights to project some interesting slogan on the floor. 23
Interaction We have prepared thousands of cups, the purpose is to encourage visitors can use there their hands to create their own shape or words. To our surprise, almost all the visitors created something before they left. We are really glad about this result.

This is also a five-day workshop. The location is a square right across the station of Wandlitzsee. The square is right next to the lake which has a old story about God and a fisherman. Our concept is to emphasize the story of this place. We create a frame lighting up with LED stripe and spot light for the statue which is in the center of the square. With this frame, as soon as visitors walk out from the station, they would see the statue right in the eyes. With the lighting frame people would feel this statue and fountain like in a postcard. There is a historical house behind the statue, which is now an Italian restaurant, we use facade lighting to light up this old historical building. At the entrance before entering the lake area, we create an arrow with LED stripes on the steel net upon the entrance to high light here for visitors to find it immediately. 26
Foucus of Local Old Story This location is between the famous lake and the train station, so visitors that come here must pass through this square to the lake. Our concept is to tell everyone that comes here this local story with lighting design. To emphasize the local culture of this town.
27
Light Up With the lighting frame to emphasize the main statue, and the facade lighting making this square so much brighter with upbeat atmosphere. Right next to the square is the entrance to the lake. The lighting arrow tells everyone the position of the entrance. We also use flood light to light up the trees with different light colors in order to create the contrast with the arrow.

Campus Open Air concert would be held in Hochschule Wismar annually at the beginning of summer semester to welcome new students. It is a big event in town. Our target is to decorate our campus into a delightful atmosphere to make people who come here to join the event can feel relax. The location of my team is the area next to the stage where is also a way leading to the exit. Due to this area is close to the stage so we do not want to disturb the audience. We use LED flood to light up the trees with contrast colors in order to create an atmosphere which represents four seasons of Wismar. offering people who are ready to leave or people who want somewhere to rest during the concert an area to take some rest with some brightness.
30
Contrast The contrast light colors between these two trees represent four seasons of Wismar, contrast light colors between the wall and the tree makes it more dramatic as well.
31
Gradient With different filters attached on one LED flood light, to make it shine with gradient colors. In order to create a dramatic but also harmony effect.

Funeral of a Star Light blue night overflow into the window, fully pouring the summer Dreaming of fireflies’ little lanterns Dreaming of Tang Palace Dreaming of silken fan with the fireflies sailing by Dreaming of another summer night, a star’s funeral Dreaming of the extension and eradication of a flash light And your exclamation, my recollection, and a moment of silence.
This luminaire is tranformated by the idea from a poem. This poem expresss the imagination of a Light blue summer night in aTang dynasty with fireflies and the recollection when someone leaving far afield. Search for the export of a dream in the infinite memories. My design of this luminaire starts from expression of infinite memories surround in a wooden cage, trying to search for a way out. In the maze-like cage, there are some parts that disconnected from other wooden sticks. That is the emblem of lost memories. The shape is also a symbol of Chinese windows. The flashing light blue from the cube symbolize the lights from fireflies and The eradication of a star. 36
Light in The Box Concept
2015
The concept is to immitate the natural light poisition of a real building. To build a box and to convert the idea of the light on this box. I choose the building locates in Tokyo, Japan. The main body of the building is surrounded by the construction which the shape is similar to branches of trees . This construction creates several windows with different shapes. The idea to create the box is to simplify its structure but remain the image of branches.

Same light source with the rotation of light source angle, the shape of shadows varies from different angles

It can be stored inside the car back trunk
46
Function It‘s not easy to store which is the common problem of child safety seats. when child is not in the car, the safety seat can’t be stored in the back trunk because of the size. We improved the installation method and storage mode of the safety seat in this design. There are two mounting bars of the exisiting ios-fix installation and have to intall the two bars on the car seat at the same time. We separated the two mounting bars so it can be installed one after one. The pneumatic foldable seat make it easier to store. When it‘s not in use, it can be stored in the back trunk. The pneumatic motor of the safety seat has functions of inflating and exhaust, attach the power cord to the car cigarette lighter to turn on the motor. The main materials are PVC and HDPE. The pneumatic seat is made up by PVC. HDPE is used in the base of the safety seat. Silicone is uesd in the non-slip mat of the base.

Clothes Wall Hanger
Category
Furniture
Concept
The town of Sanyi in Taiwan is famous for its “April snows”—every year, in late spring/ early summer, the flowers of the Tung tree (Vernicia fordii) bloom and fall onto wooden sleepers that line the old train track. This beautiful white scene was my inspiration for this clothes hanger. The Tung flowers are clothes hangers that can be freely combined on and moved around the sleepers, while its visual design makes it suitable for any room of the house.

1. The wooden blocks are like railway sleepers, and the metal flower buds can be fixed into the holes along each block. The double-sided “sleepers” can also be rearranged, flipped, and fit together into different shapes to fit different walls 2. A Tung flower hanger. The metal flower buds are set on the holes on the “sleepers” 3. The stamens of the flowers are also screws that hold the flower hangers in place
Design Motivation Every late spring and early summer, the Tung flowers in Taiwan’s Miaoli County bloom and fall like snow flakes, seemingly covering the mountains in snow. Looking up, pure white Tung flowers rest on your head. Walking along trails covered in these snow-like flowers as a gentle breeze blows is a joyful experience. The Tung flower is also an icon of the Miaoli Hakka culture—Hakka people settled the area centuries ago, and Tung oil was an early and vital cash crop, so the Tung flower and Hakka culture have become 56 connected.
