New Directions for Holy Questions
Progressive Christian Theology for Families Claire Brown and Anita Peebles Rooted in the teachings of progressive Christianity for today’s kids and parents. With accessible language, Bible stories, and connections to daily life, this book guides children and the adults who love them through the core teachings of Christianity. Kids have big questions about God and faith, and, while many of those questions don’t have one clear answer, Christians throughout the ages have given us helpful ways to think and talk about what we believe. Each chapter includes simple spiritual practices and questions for reflection, either in solitary reading or through conversation between children and caregivers or ministers. It is oriented towards anti-racism, gender equality, economic justice, care of the environment, affirmation of LGBTQ+ folks, trauma-informed practice, and global citizenship. CLAIRE BROWN is an Episcopal priest, writer, facilitator, and spiritual director. Claire is the author of numerous articles and book chapters, and is the co-editor of Keep Watch with Me: An Advent Reader for Peacemakers. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt Divinity School, the School of Theology at Sewanee, and the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. She lives in Athens, Tennessee. ANITA PEEBLES serves as associate pastor for next generation ministries at Seattle First Baptist Church (ABC-USA). A graduate of Vanderbilt Divinity School, Anita was ordained by Glendale Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, an Alliance of Baptists-affiliated congregation. She lives in Seattle.

Sing, Wrestle, Spin
Prayers for Active Kids Jennifer Grant Fresh and imaginative ways for kids to pray using all of their senses. Prayer does not have to involve silence, sitting still, and solemnity. It can be active and engaging, especially essential for kids, who often enjoy movement and creativity. In an easy-to-use format with illustrations, the author connects scripture and biblical characters to dynamic prayer practices such as wrestling, singing, breathing, and dancing. Praying while using sign language, tracing a labyrinth, applying Band-Aids, planting a seed, eating something delicious, or riding a bike—these fun ideas are just some of the ways wiggly, tactile, and nonverbal kids will learn to reach out in love, gratitude, and need to God. “A gentle, creative exploration that will be welcomed by every family of faith.” —Glenys Nellist, author of the Love Letters from God, Snuggle Time, and Good News series JENNIFER GRANT is the author of several books, including the picture book Maybe God Is Like That Too, which won a gold medal from the Moonbeam Spirit Awards for excellence in children’s literature and was named a book of the year finalist in the Foreword Indies awards. Living Water, 2nd Edition
Baptism as a Way of Life Klara Tammany Foreword by Sharon Ely Pearson The second edition of a classic designed for baptismal preparation and relevant to all Christians. A program for adult Episcopalians that can easily be adapted to other denominations, one-on-one spiritual mentoring, children, young adult, or intergenerational groups, and even to individuals for private meditation. The eight group sessions in this book focus repeatedly on water, first as a natural element necessary to life, then as a symbolic element necessary to spirituality. Gradually, through prayer, song, scripture, silence, poetry, visual arts, storytelling, group discussion, and personal reflection, water—as a baptismal element—gains ascendancy. No longer merely occasional refreshment, Living Water inundates, becoming life’s very medium. KLARA TAMMANY has served professionally as a teacher, religious educator, and non-profit director. Now retired, she lives in Lewiston, Maine, as one of five mentors at Sophia’s House, a residential community of healing for women. SHARON ELY PEARSON is a Christian educator, editor, and author with more than thirty-five years of experience in Christian formation on the local, judicatory, and church-wide level. She is a graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary and a lifelong Episcopalian. She lives in Norwalk, Connecticut.
