Travel solution:
How to book travel in just 90 seconds Many not-for-profits spend hours searching the internet for the cheapest travel deals. Ironically this approach will cost your organisation more money than it saves. Time is money. Money is time. To save on both, your organisation needs access to a whole bunch of competitive prices – and it needs them fast! Avoiding the hidden cost of time As a CR Member, your organisation has access to the FCm online booking tool. By using this tool, you can see all your domestic and New Zealand flights from all the major airlines. You can even book car hire and accommodation at the same time. This eliminates timewasting activities like flicking between different websites.
It’s so effective that one of our Members’ employees can book their work travel in 90 seconds! You can also save time changing bookings – change your flight time and other bookings, like car hire and accommodation, will change to match it automatically. Not comfortable with online booking? CR Members also have a dedicated travel team at FCm, so you can save time booking over the phone with a 2 hour turnaround time. The best part is that the dedicated travel team are available 24/7, so you never deal with any travel call centres. All these features help you save on the hidden cost of time. And that’s before you even count the highly competitive prices.
4
Competitive Pricing at your fingertips When CR first teamed up with FCm, our Members had access to 2% discounts on Qantas. Since then the savings and other benefits have grown dramatically: > Discounts on 95% of airfares from Qantas and Virgin: > 6%–32% off Qantas domestic fares > 9%–57% off Qantas international fares > 8%–29% off Virgin Australia domestic fares > 18%–38% off Virgin Australia international fares. > Car hire rates from $40 / day with Hertz. Excess is reduced from $3500 to $770 (including GST); > Access to FCm corporate accommodation rates, plus best rate of the day, customer negotiated rates, government rates (if applicable), wholesale rates and rooms through FCm’s last minute accommodation website www.quickbeds.com; > Flexible payment options including a 30-day credit account with consolidated invoicing, so you can reconcile your travel bills in less time and hassle-free; > Travel reporting and traveller tracking technology; > FCm Mobile app for mobile travel itineraries and alerts; > Qantas Club membership available at a discounted price of $330 / year (+ joining fee $230). Virgin Australia membership available at a discounted price of $300/year (+ joining fee $180).* >And more!

Did we see you in Cairns? CathNews takes its readers to the Holy Land Church Resources have been out and about over the last few months at a number of conferences, including ASBA 2013, where we were joined by OfficeMax and Ericsson LG. We always enjoy the opportunity to meet with our Members, and it was great to see so many of you visit us at the Associaton of School Business Admistrators (ASBA)’s biennial conference. Our stand attracted a lot of attention, thanks to giveaways from OfficeMax and their supplier, 3M, an exciting demonstration of Ericsson LG’s latest video conferencing and IP telephony technologies, and an opportunity to learn more about CR’s complete range of solutions for the not-for-profit sector. Our Business Development Manager for Queensland, Debbie Yeo, addressed the conference on the final day to outline the value that Church Resources is able to offer not-for-profit schools, including health insurance, travel and energy savings.

Member Case Study: Mission Australia Church Resources works with a huge range of not-forprofit organisations to help them save time and money. Recently, we caught up with Mission Australia to hear about some of the ways we are able to help them.
Inspired by Christian values, for over 150 years Mission Australia has been helping people regain their independence - by standing together with Australians in need, until they can stand for themselves. Mission Australia believes the biggest advantage of CR Membership is the way CR provides independent expert advice and takes responsibility for the execution of supplier arrangements. This makes for quick and easy procurement wins.
8
“Mission Australia trusts CR and believes we have a true partnership. We can ring our CR Account Manager at any given moment for advice, industry updates and supplier recommendations and we see this CR resource as part of the Mission Australia team” says Carole Dunphy, National Procurement Manager.
“We have wanted to implement many of these solutions for such a long time and just didn’t have the resources available. So having CR and NUS Consulting involved in our Energy Project has reduced the administration burden for us and that has further helped us achieve a saving!” says Carole.
CR appreciates Mission Australia’s organisation, how they operate and the unique way they operate. CR and our Preferred Partners work closely with our Members to make sure that they understand each other, identify synergies and ensure there is a good fit. CR has helped Mission Australia with a range of products and services, including energy from AGL and NUS, and office supplies from OfficeMax.

A fresh approach to professional services for your facility
Through our partner, National Maintenance Corporation, CR can offer a complete range of professional services relating to facilities management, geared towards not-for-profit organisations. These include: Advice on planning, architectural and interior design, and adaptive reuse of buildings; Assistance with development applications; Preparation of project budgets and financial feasibilities and much more.
12
CR partners with National Maintenance Corporation (NMC) to provide emergency repair and routine property and programmed facilities maintenance for your organisation. What many Members may not realise is that NMC can also provide many important skills that few traditional maintenance contractors offer. These have been developed by their management team who have over seventy years’ combined experience in the property industry. In what is now a rapidly shifting environment of increased regulatory controls and cost escalation (accompanied by progressively less financial support from government agencies), it is critical for the not-for-profit sector to optimise utilisation of resources and to pursue operational efficiencies. NMC through its management and relationships with many established property professionals is ideally placed to assist CR Members with these challenges.
A complete range of Facilities Management Services Through its associate Sandhurst Australia, NMC can offer a wide range of services to help you achieve significant efficiencies across small or large property portfolios. These services include: >Advice on statutory planning controls, architectural and interior design solutions, adaptive reuse of buildings; >development applications for change of use, alterations, additions, fit-outs and new construction; >issue of complying development and occupation certificates by private certifiers; >project and development management, tendering and contract supervision; >preparation of project budgets and financial feasibilities; >assistance with acquisition and disposition of real property assets;
>due diligence, pre and post-occupation property inspections; >negotiations for leased premises; review of lease conditions prior to execution; >property valuations for internal reporting and balance sheet purposes; >preparation of emergency exit plans to comply with regulations; >inspection, audit and testing of essential fire services equipment; >preparation of funding applications to government for capital grants; >non-recourse finance facilities for acquisition of new capital equipment.
