The Center for Health & Wellbeing (CHWB) is proud to host education programs that inspire your healthiest self. Advance registration for all programs is required. To register, please visit the CHWB calendar at YourHealthandWellbeing.org/events, call 407.644.2492 or stop by the CHWB Welcome Desk to learn more about specific programs and to register. A note regarding COVID-19 safety protocols: At this time, all guests at the Center for Health & Wellbeing are required to wear masks in all indoor spaces, including during our education programs. During programs, the presenters may remove their masks in order to be better heard by audience members. Attendees, however, must keep their masks fully in place (covering the nose and mouth) during the entire presentation. In accordance with CHWB guidelines, our programs will also be limited in capacity and rooms set to account for social distancing.

Root-ing for the Holiday Season Webinar

This holiday season, give some beloved food traditions a healthy makeover, without losing any of the flavor. Chef Jenny Breen will prepare recipes using seasonal root vegetables and variations on traditional holiday foods. Join as she demonstrates how to make Squash Gratin with Cilantro Pesto and Veggie and Potato Latkes. Chef Breen will also answer your holiday cooking questions live during this webinar.

Holiday Blues: When Everyone is Celebrating Except Me

Getting through the holiday season after experiencing a major loss or transition can be an overwhelming task. This year, we are also still absorbing the impact of the long pandemic and other societal challenges as the holidays approach. Licensed Mental Health Counselor Alison Issen will present ways to reduce the stress of preparing for the holidays, and you’ll learn how to make your celebrations simpler, more spiritual and less materialistic. How to Stay Healthy While Approaching the Holiday Season Webinar

We all know eating healthy is good for us, but how do we do that during the holidays? Sherri Flynt, MPH, RD, LDN and Chef Edwin Cabrera from the Center for Nutritional Excellence with AdventHealth will answer your questions on nourishing nutrition for yourself and your family during the holiday season. This program is presented by AdventHealth.

Cooking with Collette: Low Sugar Holiday Baking

It’s the holiday season! You may be going to bed with visions of sugar-plums dancing in your head, but that doesn’t mean your holiday treats need to be super sweet. In this program, Chef Collette Haw of Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen at the Center for Health & Wellbeing will showcase low-sugar, healthy swaps sure to become a beloved part of your family’s holiday traditions: Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut Tart with Fresh Raspberries and Honey Cinnamon Cookies. Create a Classic Fresh Magnolia Wreath CHWB - Community Conference Room B

Magnolia wreaths are a Southern classic. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make a gorgeous and festive holiday wreath to enjoy for years to come. Join local floral expert Emily Bader as she shares the history of magnolia wreaths and guides you through the process of creating your own using leaves harvested directly from the trees surrounding the Center for Health & Wellbeing! This class may sell out and registration closes Dec. 6. Program fee of $25 covers all materials needed.

Legacy! is Central Florida Community Arts’ preeminent group of professional singers. To make your holiday season merrier, you’re invited to a special performance of beloved Christmas carols by the group. Stop by and enjoy some classic acapella carols as Legacy! fills the halls of the Center for Health & Wellbeing with the sounds of the season. Join Meditation Instructor and Mindfulness Coach Camille Sacco to experience this sound healing session designed to clear and release negative energy, open your heart, and promote a quieter state of mind. Cooking for Nutrition and Strong Immunity Webinar

Give the gift of your creative talents this holiday season. In this program led by Calligraphy Instructor Lynda Chandler, you’ll learn the basic strokes that formulate beautiful traditional calligraphy. Invite a friend or relative to this program and use your new skills to create gift tags and place cards (both will be provided) that will embellish your presents and holiday tables.

Join Registered Dietitian and Culinary Medicine Specialist Allison Harrell to discuss ways to improve your immunity as she prepares four delicious recipes: Lentil Stuffed Peppers, Chai Spiced Muesli, Orange Moroccan Salad, and Turmeric Berry Smoothie.

Sketching 101

The Center for Health & Wellbeing is a partnership between the Winter Park Health Foundation and AdventHealth.

Did you know that small acts of creativity increase our overall health and wellbeing? Unleash your inner artist in this dynamic session led by Central Florida Community Arts Teaching Artist JJ Gonzalez Acosta. Acosta will teach the basics of sketching using simple art techniques. Participants will observe the world around them before choosing an object to draw during this guided workshop. Sketching 101 is a class intended for adults interested in unlocking their creativity.
