Out of Africa

March

is Nutrition Month at the Center for Health & Wellbeing! It’s so easy to get caught up in the year’s trendy diet that promises all of the fast results with none of the deprivation. But one thing that’s held true, decade after decade, is that eating a well-balanced, fruit and vegetable-rich, colorful diet with the occasional indulgence is the best way to approach nutrition and sustainable healthy eating. This March, challenge yourself to make one small nutrition change, introduce an exotic spice to your meals or even re-frame how you think about fats in your diet.

Did You Know?

In this multimedia program, you’ll learn about the endangered and critically endangered species within seven countries in Africa. Much of the wildlife featured in this imagery is on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List, a list of species at high risk of global extinction.

Broccoli, parsley, Brussel sprouts, and red bell peppers all contain more vitamin C per 100g serving than oranges. And chili peppers contain 400% more Vitamin C than a serving of oranges!

Nutrition Month Tip
