Light Pollution with International DarkSky Association
New Beginnings: A Renewal of Hope Art Exhibit Visit us as we unveil the AdventHealth New Beginnings HOPE Art Exhibit, designed by AdventHealth patients. Through the AdventHealth Art Therapy Program, patients collaborated to create this inspiring masterpiece that highlights the positive health effects that hope provides each of us. The start of a new year often symbolizes new beginnings, renewal, and hope for positive change. This past year or so has been particularly challenging…filled with fear, uncertainty, and various challenges. Through hope and resiliency, we can overcome hardships and persevere.
Light pollution — the inappropriate or excessive use of artificial light — is the most avoidable form of pollution. It can negatively impact many aspects of our lives, including the environment, our health and our energy consumption. In Florida, light pollution is causing serious issues for wildlife, especially for birds, sea turtles, butterflies and bees. Steven Miller, from International Dark-Sky Association, will share ways you can combat light pollution even in your own backyard.
