NIKOLA CHYTILOVÁ
ABOUT ME My name is Nikola Chytilová and I am an architecture student from Brno in the Czech Republic. During my studies, I have gained knowledge about creating a high-quality space to make great architecture and how to use construction technologies to build projects. In my design, I create clear and organized structures and dispositions. I like contemporary architecture and one of my favourite architects that I admire is Frank Gehry. I am interested in sustainable architecture and I would like to deeper my knowledge about this topic.

ARENA86 Location: Paris - Thiais, France Year: 2022 Group work with: Anna Janssen (part hotel, photoshop editing) Conceptual sketches This metropolitan project is about transforming public space, that will become one of the most important areas near Paris. The site is located southeast of Paris – Thiais, next to a shopping centre Belle Épine (1) and a cemetery (2). The project is creating a link between the shopping centre and the train station Pont de Rungis (3). The connection is created by a bridge that crosses the A86 road (4). The project is in the middle of the urban context. The main point was to design an arena (5) and a hotel (6) complemented by some other functions like offices, sports halls, sauna, gym, theatre, restaurants and shopping areas. The two buildings are independent, but they are linked by a bridge. The goal of this project is to keep life inside and outside of the buildings in every part of the day.

CAR CENTRE Location: Mikulov, Czech Republic Year: 2020 Solo project The project Car centre is located in the southwest part of Mikulov. In past, there was an agriculture centre, but now this area is abandoned. It is an industrial building that serves the Volkswagen group. The building includes a showroom as a space for selling the cars as well as a service part for repairing them. However, it was essential to understand the process and all the functions needed to run a car centre. The shape of the project site strongly affected the final form of the centre. The southwest façade is aligned with the relevant borderline of the site. There are three volumes, that correspond with three different functions – showroom, service and storage area. To create a more dynamic building, the volume of the showroom and service is higher that the volume of the storage area. Skylights in the service area give rhythm and regularity to the project.

CZECH SUSTAINABLE HOUSE Location: Český Krumlov, Czech Republic Year: 2019 Solo project
The project Sustainable Czech house is located near the historical city centre of Český Krumlov. The surrounding buildings have a typical shape of a family house with a saddle roof. Therefore, was crucial to design a house that fits in its neighbourhood and respects the typical archetype of a family house. Another important factor that affected the final shape of the house is the view from the site. The volume of the first floor is rotated in a northwest direction to profit from this view. The project is created for a family which enjoys to spent most of the time outside. That is why connecting the house’s interior with its garden was important. The terrain on the site is slightly sloping and is surrounded by supporting walls. In the garden, there was an existent cherry tree which the family wished to keep. The project considers sustainable technologies in order to make the house self-sufficient.
