Legal English (LGL)
English for Human Resources (EHR)
Commercial lawyers need to use specialised legal language effectively, so this course focuses on a number of legal topics and case studies. You will develop key areas including the language of negotiations, contract drafting and litigation. In addition, there will be visits from three practising lawyers, guaranteeing up to date professional input and providing personal feedback on a contract drafting task.
This course covers a number of situations typically faced by HR professionals. The focus is mostly on interviewing, conducting appraisals, aspects of employment law, negotiating and disciplinary procedures, with particularly rich opportunities for networking and cross-cultural work.

The focus here is on chairing and participating in international meetings and conducting bilateral and multilateral negotiations with greater effectiveness. You will leave with greater confidence when working with official texts, making speeches and working with public bodies such as the EU, UN, NATO and WTO.
If you have specific learning objectives, individual training may be the best way for us to help you. Focus on a specific subject, sector or skill, such as making a presentation, or on a particular area such as vocabulary or grammar. English for University (EFU)
Academic Year (AY)
This course delivers the academic English and practical study skills needed for degree level study at a UK university. It develops students’ confidence and competence in key areas such as research, critical analysis and extended writing. The course is structured so that academic skills and learner independence are built up and consolidated through project work. The course has been developed with input from universities and it is taught by specialist EAP trainers.
Our Academic Year allows you to combine three of our courses into one flexible study programme. This option is suitable for students of all subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in English. Combining relevant units from our Intensive General English, English for University and IELTS preparation courses, it can be tailored to suit your needs depending on your starting level and university goals.

Studying at the London School of English was an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. For me the course was better than I expected. Not only do the teachers test your abilities every day with new challenges, but also having the possibility to make friends from all around the world is something that makes each day special and adds value to the course. Living in Canterbury We put a lot of care and attention into how you spend your time outside formal training hours. This is what makes a Canterbury immersion course an authentic experience of England. An important part of that experience is your accommodation. It is important that you feel comfortable and relaxed at the end of a challenging day.
Homestay Our executive homestays are exceptional and we strongly recommend this as the best way to complete your immersion experience. Our hosts offer a genuinely warm welcome and high standard of hospitality. Hotel accommodation
