O QUE O CORPO ABRIGA Renan Marcondes é um artista brasileiro que recorre ao uso do seu próprio corpo como principal veículo e suporte da sua produção artística, utilizando-o distanciado da sua inegável humanização, como se pudesse transformá-lo numa espécie de objeto museológico. A exposição reúne vídeos, objetos, fotografias e uma performance ao vivo criada em residência artística. Renan Marcondes is a Brazilian artist who uses his own body as the main vehicle and conduit for his artistic production, using it in a way that is distanced from its undeniable humanization, as if he were able to transform it into a type of museum piece. The exhibition brings together videos, objects, photographs, and a live performance created during an artist-in-residence.

MACUMBA VISUAL ANA SEIXAS Ana Seixas tem explorado a sua autorrepresentação como escopo de análise sobre o tempo e a memória por meio da transformação da matéria. A transcendência e, contrariamente, o total ceticismo surgem na visualidade gerada a partir de elementos utilizados tanto em rituais que não pertencem a nenhuma religião específica – cerimoniais desdobrados dos cultos ditos pagãos quando contém alguma espiritualidade – como em rituais diários (banais ou significativos) extraídos da sua própria rotina. A conjuntura é composta por instalações constituídas unicamente de substâncias orgânicas e vídeos que revelam o processo de construção de parte das obras antes das suas apresentações sob a forma de matérias em pleno estado de putrefação. Ana Seixas has been concentrating on the concept of self-representation as the focus point for an analysis on time and memory by way of the transformation of material. Transcendence, and its opposite, complete skepticism, emerge in the visuality she generates by taking up elements used both in rituals that do not belong to any specific religion – ceremonies from social customs considered pagan but which still relate to a certain spirituality – and in the daily rituals (the commonplace and the meaningful) so present in our own routine. The ensemble is made up of installations comprising only organic substances and videos that reveal the process of construction of part of the work before their presentation under the form of material which is in a complete state of putrefaction.
