Federal revenue collection exceeds a trillion reals in 2012 and is a record The annual federal revenue collection achieved, in 2012, the total record of R$ 1,029 trillion, meaning a nominal growth of 6.85%, (based on IPCA) and a real growth of 0.70%, in comparison with the volume collected in 2011, which was R$ 969,89 billion.

Although the annual collection has exceeded for the first time the figure of a trillion reals, disclosing data relating to the previous year, the Deputy Secretary of the Receita Federal, Zayda Manatta stated that there was only "positive growth" in the period. December Last December the collection also showed a positive growth, totaling R$ 103.24 billion, which represented a nominal variation of 6.85%, (based on IPCA) and real variation of 0.96%, if compared with collection in December 2011, which totaled R$ 96.62 billion. The global analysis of the RFB on the collection behavior in 2012 highlights, among other negative points, falling profitability of companies in the period, pointing as evidence the reduction of R$ 5.6 billion in total proceeds of IRPJ/CSLL, configuring a real fall of 8.26 % in the period between April and December last year compared with the collection of these taxes in the same period in 2011. Zayda Manatta also mentioned the tax exemptions as source of reduction in collection, which totaled R$ 46.44 billion last year. For 2013 the Federal Revenue predicts a collection reduction of $ 53.23 billion.
