CIAT is a public international organization which groups the tax administrations of 40 countries, (31 Amarican countries, 6 European countries, 2 African countries and one Asian country), for the purpose of providing an integral service for the modernization of those administrations, by promoting their evolution, social acceptance and consolidation through the exchange of knowledge, experiences and the rendering of specialized technical assistance.

Agreement between the CIAT and the Guardia di Finanza of Italy This April 25th, in the framework of the 46th CIAT General Assembly and following the allocution of General Michele Carbone, Head of the Analysis Department and International Relations of the Guardia di Finanza of Italy, and Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, CIAT Executive Secretary, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed in order to strengthen the cooperation between the two institutions, mostly in the fields of tax intelligence, and exchange of information between States and International Taxation. This Memorandum of Understanding not only promotes closer relations between both organizations and a greater cooperation of the Guardia di Finanza of Italy towards the CIAT member countries, but also leads to the presence of a representation at the CIAT Executive Secretary central office.
