THE ROYAL PALACE OF QUELUZ

An Imposing Architectural Work In Which

CIGARRO DOMINICANO was visiting Portugal, where it is inadmissible to leave the Royal Palace of Queluz, located on the outskirts of the city of Lisbon, out of the itinerary.

Nicknamed “The Portuguese Versailles”, this venue houses a surprising number of rooms and beautiful spots; one more stunning than the other, like its SMOKING LOUNGE. Inside; rooms, living rooms and bedrooms decorated with the finest pieces, and outside, kilometer-long gardens with impressive shades of colors, the typical Portuguese tiles and statues.

We couldn’t help but wonder, and imagine ourselves smoking next to Don Pedro III, in the SMOKING ROOM; a beautiful lounge with 19th century furniture, made in different European countries and in China, whose decoration remains intact. Among them, the table (a kind of humidor) where they kept golden boxes with very fine handcrafted decorations, where they put the ground tobacco, since it was customary to smoke in pipes at the time.
